I'm curious what "better songs" would be? The vast majority of chart topping hits are rubbish over manufactured pulp - not all but many. Sure there have been some of Adam's songs on either album I skipped but that's true of most artists and albums. Trespassing had a number of great songs equal to anything at the top of the charts - that RCA didn't have the balls to back his talent and courage with some of their own isn't on him. Very very few songs on the radio today or at the top of iTunes will be more than musical footnotes in a few years (hell probably less than that). The kinds of huge sweeping bold anthemic songs that artists like Queen released would not even make the playlist if released today. I have no idea what A3 will sound like (though I'd love him to call it that)... I do know that touring with Queen is cementing his credibility and building awareness that will hopefully translate when the time comes. Because hitting it "big" these days is about lots of things and not many of them have to do with the song... #YMMV #IMHO Adam doesn't need better songs, he needs better label who will have the courage and balls to support and promote his talent. Hopefully his new label will just do that. I think a lot of songs in Trespassing are hits worthy but didn't get the chance to be heard because the two singles were bad choices. And TBH, those are the only two songs I skipped while listening the album, especially NCOE. Yes, it would be gold if Adam could get a legendary song, but that took time and luck and a bit of everything from the universe. I think we should trust him wholeheartedly. My philosophy is when there's some one doubting his credibility or talent, we should send him extra support and positive energy. Adam has incredible talent and great personality. I believe one day he will reach his legendary stardom. But right now, he's enjoying being on stage with Queen and being able to create new music from his heart. I think we should show some patience. If he's happy, I am happy.

It's not just the song... It's that golden song/or songs that come maybe once in a lifetime...Like Whitney Houston.. I will Always love You.. a signature song.. Dolly Parton wrote it ,but Whitney made it Hers...Queen Has many signature songs. I know Adam can sing all types of music and better than anyone else..but Adam's voice is deserving of historic melodys. It's always the songs that make history and last from one generation to another.. That glorious voice of Adams must be preserved though epic music.Think of all the great music that lasted ,it was through the words and music, not necessarily the vocals...What moves us ,what do we relate to ,what makes us remember when.. like I sometimes say to my husband. You love me? I need the words and the music That. I love Adam's albums (and everything else that he sings, for that matter) - the upbeat songs are fun, the slower songs are beautiful. But they're not EPIC, like Who Wants to Live Forever or The Show Must Go On (or I Will Always Love You). His talent deserves that high caliber of songwriting. This is an interesting discussion, and I've often thought about how songs used to reach that "epic" status but how they just don't seem to do that anymore. With changes in radio and technological advances that allow us to consume music in myriad ways, songs are not given the same intense, single-focus treatment they used to get that propelled them to become classic songs that survived generations. Back in the day, radio was the only place we could hear songs until we purchased the album (or 8-track or cassette). Excited listeners would call in to request the songs they liked most, and those songs that were truly most popular got played more by virtue of more requests. Popular songs played for months, and "epic" tunes lived on and are still regularly rotated today on classic stations. I really don't know much about the ins and outs of today's music industry, but even those songs that at the time of popularity seem like game-changers for their artists seem to just become occasionally heard, faint memories even a year or so later. Back in the day, the popularity of Adele's "Someone Like You" or Lady Gaga's "Poker Face," for example, would have propelled them into "classic" territory, but due to the changes in radio, they have been put on the back shelf alongside every other song that isn't on the allowed current limited rotation of tunes. In reference to Adam, I guess what I'm trying to say is that while he definitely needs a hit song, I don't really think songs that everyone knows for generations to come exist anymore. Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but I just don't see it happening. With his talent, though, and hopefully some hits and continued critical acclaim for his music, acting, hosting and all the other gifts he seems to possess, I truly think he is well positioned to become one of the artist names associated with this generation.

Yes I loved Adam's Albums especially A2. Many songs could have been hits off that LP it was a shame it wasn't given a fear go but his day will come.

I am a new member and am having trouble posting. But here goes. My recap of the Houston concert. Love all of yours, so just had to share mine. I attended the Houston concert, flying alone from Tampa the day of. This was going to be a bucket list item for me. It started out with a custom made QAL t-shirt which I modified from one I made after Adam’s run on Am Idol. I wore it from the moment I left the house and it was quite a conversation piece everywhere I went. I got a hotel within a block of the Toyota Center. Saw the “truck n roll” trucks on a vacant lot across the street. My time was coming!
Yes, I had VIP seats down front, to the right of the thrust. And to my delight, I was in the crazy section, so I felt right at home, Adam and standing only territory! The concert was overwhelming in some ways. I had watched many online videos, photos, tweets, conversations on Adamtopia, reviews, etc. But being only a few feet from the action gives you an otherworldly feel. Is this for real? My feeling halfway in about Adam was, I am so close, but yet so far. He now resides in the stratosphere. In a way, that gave me mixed emotions. I had seen him twice before, during the GNT and at Universal Orlando last summer. It seemed to me those intimate shows are now gone forever. I had wanted this so much for Adam, worldwide acclaim on a worldwide stage, but realized I would probably never be able to wait outside his bus in the dark with a few others and get his autograph again.
Adam was so on point and so happy! But then so was the rest of the band. Adam’s improvisatorial singing when Brian’s guitar malfunctioned was a real treat. And a new song rose to the top of my favorites, Tie Your Mother Down. I had not focused on Brian and the rest of the band during pre-concert video footage, so I was determined to pay close attention when they were spotlighted. OMG, they are all such treasures. I was especially impressed with Brian. He was feeling the love and it showed. The audience roared their approval when he and the band put on the NASA hats. Having lived briefly in Houston 30 yrs ago, I knew what that meant to Houston fans. Plus he dedicated a song to the NASA team and astronauts. Then later he came out with an Astros jersey on and the fans went wild again.
My seat to the right of the thrust had some good points and not so good points. Everything that happened on that second stage, was behind us to the left, so we saw their backs. But the pluses were, we got great close up views of anything that took place on the catwalk and there were some sexy moments there, ie, when Adam gets on his bike and rides and later, gimme all your love. Plus we were close to the right side golden stairs and were big into the sing and response that Adam does. Our side was louder!
During the concert, at least two of the glamberts near me cried, and I mean CRIED, had to sit down and lower their heads. Very touching. I am not a crier, I am a screamer. I bought special ear plugs, but forgot them in the hotel room. I did not need them. Could have used them maybe when we were all screaming at the top of our lungs for the encore. I could not hear myself scream, wonder if that did some damage? Ha, ha. If not my ears, how about my vocal chords? I am hoarse today.
Security around the thrust were stopping people from video taping, the disadvantage of being close. I did get a few in and about 50 photos. But mostly enjoyed the concert, trying not to look at that huge screen in front of us, wanted to see the guys without relying on it. I like Adam’s shoes/boots and swore I was going to take a close up of them. I forgot about this until the encore, and I did get…“these shoes are made for walking.” I will post a short video of that later.
When it was over, I didn’t want to leave the arena. It was fun talking to the people, but security said we had to go. I was not ready to end this once in a life time experience. Didn’t get to talk to any Queen fans until the walk back to the hotel. A man and his son were walking behind me and they started the conversation. Asked if I liked the concert, I said yes, did they? They thought it was great. They had flown in from Colorado for it. The man said, “You know, I did not know anything about this Adam Lambert before I came. I never watched Am Idol.” What did you think I asked? He said “He was great, such a diva, just like Freddie, I loved it!” His son added, “I liked when they showed Freddie too.” Me: “How old are you? He: “12.” Me: “Are you a rock n roller too?” He: “Yes.” Me: “Your Dad is raising you right.” He had a new Queen t-shirt in hand, which I saw him wearing the next day. The torch had been passed. Wonderful ending to a spectacular night.
