Dr. Brian May @drbrianmay · 27m One of my treasured moments from the tour. "Your Matches still light up the sky ..." Now who said that ?!? Bri The email from the Queen fanclub that came a few days ago gave a link to get the lighter app to use during the encore. Here's the link. Just pull down the page. www.centertheatregroup.org/RockYou

Why do I let myself get worked up about what other people write? Why do I even read it? This Queen fan obviously thought he was being magnanimous saying that Adam couldn't/wouldn't do the high notes. Another way of saying "He's no Freddie Mercury, but he's not bad. Good try." Bullshit! He doesn't know what the hell he is talking about. Adam hits ALL the high notes that Freddie did in the studio version. (Repeated D5s.) Every single one. Every performance. Adam ADDS even higher notes some nights. (E5 up to F#5) It seems to be another example of altered memory of a dead icon. I am sure the guy believes and even remembers hearing Freddie sing higher in that song. I played the studio version several times to check MY memory, and D5 is it. Honest. (I thought maybe one E5, but couldn't find it when I replayed it. If I missed it, mea culpa.) Maybe it is sorta like going back to the house you lived in as a little child and thinking "But, I remember the rooms being waaaay bigger than this." Freddie lives larger than life in fans' memories. It is impossible for Adam to measure up to that. That is it exactly Cassie. Freddie, as amazing as he was, has become a god in the minds of fans. He has been immortalized as so much more than he actually was IMO and I say that as a long time Queen fan and huge Freddie lover. This idea that he was this near perfect vocalist is so far for reality it borders on ridiculousness. The Queen "sound" was achieved in the studio with massive layering of vocals and not just Freddie's but Brian and Roger's too. Freddie was was a fantastic singer, musician and certainly one of the best showmen ever to grace a stage but this constant " Adam is no Freddie" nonsense is just that, nonsense. Adam doesn't need to be Freddie. Freddie lived, made his mark on the world and then he died. Adam is now doing the same and him constantly having to "live up to" what is really a mythical idea of Freddie is unfair.

Wow seems the Dallas show was very special to get that kind of note at the end! Look at Spike and Neil's faces after that glorious note.. says it all! And the look on Roger's and especially Brian's face taking it all in at the end when they're taking their bows.. Thought I'd drop this off. This is the moment immediately after that GLORIOUS note. (hope this works, I have forgotten how to post photos here) ALOHA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG, I have a new personal smiley! Yes, it often looked like this in the last weeks! Haha, how cute and funny, thank you so much, dear Chapf!!! (But I admit, in the last week my DH was the one who voted for hours when he came back home from work because I'm still hopelessly behind with the threads, etc., and so I spent much time trying to catch up on everything! So, he deserves the praise for last week! He's definitely a keeper!!! ) Bahaha, another one with my DH, aww, how sweet of you, thanks Chapf! DH is sleeping now but I will show it to him later!

Adam Lambert and Queen to play Madison Square GardenNew York - Global pop star Adam Lambert and iconic rock band Queen will be playing a show at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 17. This should be quite the experience for rock and roll fans worldwide. Lambert and Queen previously performed together in September of 2013, during the iHeartRadio Music Festival that was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, and as Digital Journal reported, it was a mesmerizing show.
