Red Panda.... Wow! Thank you posting Freddie's ITLOTG_R version. Both Freddie's and Adam's performances really touched me and making me cry... both slightly different but the passion of their delivery is similar.... Freddie's is more raw and gripping (using also his hands and phrasing to express what he wanted us to hear) and Adam's more finesse, silky and smooth but does not hide the intent (also using his arms and phrasing).... OMG two beautiful renditions and I'm still crying. Freddie's Adam's

Great analysis, Cassie. <STL analysis. Don't want to repeat.> (ooops..sorry. Should I do ITLOG instead?) This is wonderful! But, in the interest of trying to keep some order to this thread, I am gonna put your post on hold for the moment and come back to it in order. Yes, please also comment on ITLOTG. Thanks! Don't know anything about music but I do know that ITLOTG is my new favorite song (and I'd never heard it before). It's just the way Adam sings the verses that I love so much. Thanks for the technical insight Cassie and everyone. I look forward to this thread.

Who knew this kind of info was out there? More than you ever wanted to know, right? However, it included one very prominent feature of the song I totally overlooked. An overwhelming number of rock songs are in 4/4 rhythm. Meaning there is a beat that goes ONE two three four ONE two three four. This is very pronounced in AOBTD, if you think of the bass notes. Lyrically, it is: a NOTHER ONE bites the dust yeah ONE two three four ITLOTG is 3/4 time. ONE two three, ONE two three like a lilting waltz.

Funny, I noticed it was a waltz but never connected that few rock songs are. (Trivia: Rolling Stones' Sympathy for the Devil is a samba if I'm not mistaken!)

The sweep of a 3/4 time is something I've always been a sucker for!

OH NO. Don't change songs yet! Some of us are recovering from getting back and need a weekend date to catch up!
I am just listening now to the ITLOTG vids.

Folks, I just "discovered" this thread and it is AWESOME! Thank you, cassie and all contributors! Would it make sense to split it into "a thread per song?"... we still have several shows to go and we might want to add to a discussion later. Perhaps it will be easier to manage...just a suggestion... now I am going to read...
