MWP! OMG! I just did an ETA to my above post and said the same thing, then deleted it! Sounds like BS from this crew member and it is inappropriate, to say the least!

QAL get one and half hours @ Summer Sonic on 16th (Osaka) & 17th (Tokyo) TokyoAnd just because I have to know these things, the Marine stage in Tokyo is the BIG stage. You can see the Ocean stage on the left edge here. Osaka doesn't have a Marine stage. Furthermore, go get'em midwifespal and mys*&@^#r.

Good advice! But..I got distracted by the double whammy gifs of both AFL walking & a CORGI eating a snowball!

Regarding that whole complex opening. Using the lyrics with the complex curtain raising was a stroke of brilliance. The problem was that I suspect that brilliance went quite unnoticed by a huge proportion of the crowd because of all the extra noise and stuff going on. When you add the really loud guitar and background instruments, and the smoke, and the multiple echo....then put it right at the beginning when everyone is still jostling in their seats, applauding for all they are worth....hyperventilating etc....the lyrics and significance just get lost.
In the end, the bulk of the people that "get it" are the uber fans that watch multiple shows and vids, know the lyrics and examine every bit of minutia coming from the show. I know it completely went over my head...I heard the first Now I'm here and that was about it....For me, I wish they had cut back on the production and volume....except for Adam's voice...for just that curtain moment because it was worth really 'seeing' and I imagine an awful lot of rehearsing went into that few seconds....jmho

Was not talking about the blonde guy. Was talking about the tall man standing with Adam in Adam's seats. You can tell from Brill's other pics of last night that he was seated behind Adam and asked for a pic together. Craig Brill is definitely not Allan Louis!

QAL get one and half hours @ Summer Sonic on 16th (Osaka) & 17th (Tokyo) Osaka Tokyo Yes, slightly under even. My guess is the whole 28 min mid section comes out which includes the drum off & bass solo, plus a shortened guitar solo (or that comes out too.) Here is my breakdown of each section, which I timed during the MSG stream. Essentially, they will need to take an hour out of the show. The first 45 mins are Adam and the whole band
Stage B parts with Brian and Roger 28 mins
Adam's 3 songs during this slow part, 17 mins (Under Pressure, Love Kills, WWTLF) not included in the 28 mins above.
Brian's solo, 14 mins
Last part of the show through Bo Rap 33 mins.
ENCORE
6 minsTonight's show at MSG was 142 mins! 2 hours 22 mins long!

When I watched the stream of Chicago I just thought the opening was fantastic. I was REALLY seeing Adam and when he sang "I am here" I just thought the lyrics were so perfect for that moment. So, the opening became something really special for me. So, I was particularly thrilled when I finally got to my live concert. I was so ready for the opening. I wanted that "I AM HERE" to just blast through the arena. It didn't. You're right, there was so much going on -- the drums, the guitar, the curtain, the flashes, just the production in general wiped out the lyrics -- Adam did too. His entrance for an Adam fan just makes everything go quiet as all you see is HIM strutting in all golden and spectacular. Talk about sensory overload!

Changing gears.....I just got around to reading my latest RS magazine...the one with Katy Perry on the cover and she mentions talking with Brian May etc..(btw. I loved the article on her, lots of Adam similarities IMO and the Bradford Cobb mentions (same agent)...but I don't normally read the correspondence page...pg 6 in this issue...and this may have been mentioned and I missed it, but the last poster under the KillerQueen article that RS did recently on Freddie, said "I hope that the Adam Lambert tour is a huge success and it returns Queen to center stage". I love it.....a small mention by a guy I doubt is a Glambert... It warms my heart! I tore out this page for that one comment to go in my Adam stash of stuff.
Now back to aggressive reverb echoes and whatnot. I have no idea of what did or did not go on at MSG sound wise and I was there. One thing I can say for sure... the show was LOUD. lol

Interesting how perspectives could be so different. I think that entrance is spectacular. And every show I've been at, when Adam's silhouette pops up for "here" and "there" the arenas went crazy! I mean BSC!! My 3 non- Adam stans (2 nieces & daughter) at Mohegan thought the entrance and especially the curtain were incredible! bamafan, I did see that blurb about QAL in RS! And I also love Katy Perry! Love her music and she will always hold a special place in my heart because of her love for Adam. If you've never been to one of her concerts, you should go! Just knowing your fun loving personality, I think you'd have a ball! BTW, was thinking that since she saw QAL at iHeart last year, she might not have felt it necessary to go see them in Montreal. Just saw some old comments here and there wondering why she didn't go. Besides, how many super stars go to concerts on their days off, besides our guy?!
