Oh my. I get what everyone is saying about Mad World but it's the only Adam idol performance I can't watch. I thought he looked like an insect with that crazy lighting...and that note at the end? Yikes, if that wasn't "off" it sure didn't work for me.
....also, the arrangement wasn't particularly novel - very Jules Verne/Donnie Darko. Adam had many more unique arrangements like Play That Funky Music. I think Simon gave him a standing ovation because they were 8 minutes over and that was the fastest thing to do.
Now "Satisfaction" on the otherhand broke him out of the crowd for me. I hadn't even noticed him before. Here were a slew of mediocre performances and then this guy starts wailing....THAT was my HOLY SHIT moment!
