Not playful? What do they want him to do--kick around a beach ball and build a little town out of Tinker Toys? This is why I take reviews with a grain of salt. It's wonderful when you get great reviews, but there is always one or two that hear/see things differently. I have to remember reviews are opinions based on many different factors. Queen had a very contentious relationship with critics in the past and were not considered "iconic" till much later. It must be very frustrating for the artist.

I lived in one house until I was six years old, when our growing family required an upgrade to four bedrooms. As an adult, I saw that my first home was for sale, so, posing as potential buyers my sister and I toured the house. Everything looked so SMALL. Almost dollhouse like as compared to memory. What a shock.
I think the same phenomenon is at work for some who "recall" Queen with Freddie in the good old days. They remember Freddie as being playful and interactive with the audience, when, in fact, a review of old films shows that he was standing behind a mic playing guitar in CLTCL or sitting at the piano looking at glasses of beer during STL. It's the passage of time, the power of myth, and the blurred memory of a "better time" in youthful days that makes the legend of Freddie unassailable.
I have read a reviewer say that Adam was not playful enough. I also read another reviewer that complained that Adam was too flamboyant. We all see and hear thru our own filters. Except for me, of course. I am totally objective when it comes to Adam F. Lambert!

It's new to me!!!! WOW! Adam's voice all by himself. Even though he's testing things, he sings in tune (ermm. Britney Spears). B-| I remember this when it happened. I was in love with this clip. HIs voice. The process of setting the sound. Everything about it was amazing. Listening to this, you know why I immediately called B.S. on the "Britney was just warming up" explanation.

Huh. This just popped up on my facebook newsfeed. Gerald Eaton (Jarvis Church) took all the bras that were thrown on stage from past concerts and bronzed them. How is this Adam-related? Well, you know.... www.facebook.com/JarvisChurchMusic?fref=photo

I've been gone all day. I really thought that Rufus for sure would do the ALS ice bucket challenge. Maybe he'll still end up doing it. I need to go watch vids. Lindaboy....glad you de-lurked.

The purity of his voice in this soundcheck just floors me. His attention to detail, his drive for perfection, the care that he takes to ensure that the audience will get the best show possible is what sets him apart from so many others. This is the difference between a performer and an artist IMO and Adam never fails to deliver. This is why after 5 years of following this man, that I am even more invested than I was at the outset. Thank you nonchallance for this little treasure.

Funny but I can relate this to Adam - there was talking about his AI performances nad I found myslef listening to a lot of things that I didn't listen to for years. And I was surprised by his voice - he was good then, but different than he is now. He is now bigger, better, new. LOL I was expecting something I called Queen Adam but it was AI Adam and then GNT Adam.
