As for the argument that all of Adam's songs sound like versions of someone else, bitch please , you stan a band that has a song, "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," that everyone STILL thinks is an Elvis cover, despite the fact that not only did Elvis never sing it, it was written years after Elvis died! Fuck, that's what pop music, and ROCK music, for that matter, is—it builds and borrows off the rest of pop and rock music. That's what makes it so accessible to so many people, and so easy to love! That's what makes Queen so easy to love, too! Every word of your post was brilliant but this is my favorite part. The first time I heard crazy little thing called love I thought it was an Elvis song lol.

"But my own bar for satisfaction is much much lower than that, and I strongly suspect Adam's is, too. As long as Adam can still make a decent living writing and performing music that satisfies him and his fans, I hope that that is what he does with at least a good chunk of his time. And I have no doubt that he can be happy doing so." Midwifespal, thanks for the thoughtful post. I am respectfully disagreeing about the above however. I cannot imagine someone in the dog eat dog world of Hollywood not wanting world domination. And to fill arenas and stadiums on his own. Here's hoping that A3 gets him there. If it doesn't but produces strong music and at least a radio hit or two that would be amazing. Absolutely. Thank you happycat14. My very thoughts as well. I cannot see Adam being satisfied just making a decent living at this artistry he loves so fiercely. That sounds like he would be happy being mediocre/so-so and I will never believe that. Can anyone see him being happy and satisfied with a career level that Kris is at right now? Sorry, but I can't.

I don't think MWP is saying that Adam would be happy and satisfied being mediocre but Adam is savvy enough to understand the business side of music and therefore he is fully aware that it is about more than the quality of the music, it is also about luck and timing, neither thing he can control so as long as he is satisfied with the music he puts forth for his fans he will be satisfied creatively. Adam could never be mediocre/so-so and he will always strive for great success but no one knows what Adam's idea of great success is.

Almost every artist tours. Just the extent and the size of the venues will vary, depending on the artists popularity. For example, Kris is currently touring in venues around 300-500, except for a few multi act type shows. Personally, I think Adam didn't tour because the "leaving RCA" was in the plan already. IMO, both he and DMG knew something had to give. "Intense forward motion!"
He's touring already? I thought he just released the album less than a month. Hmm.. wonder what's the sales number.
Kris released an indie album, sold around 4,000 -- peaked at #80 on the Billboard chart. This is sad because it was his best album so far. It was indie but he had distribution -- it is available at all the major digital outlets, Amazon had MP3 and CD, and CD was in selected Walmarts, Best Buys, and other music stores. I saw Kris in Cleveland last week, he will be in Akron this week and I will see him again -- noontime free concerts. He was good. The crowd was small. Kris is sort of touring -- but this is not a "tour" -- he is doing a package of ax 12 college performances, playing some clubs (200-400 capacity), and then in October will be supporting Boyce Avenue. >> This is a very hard way to make a living. There is a big difference between being "on Tour" and playing clubs and being an opening act for someone else's tour. *** I am so glad Adam has a label.
