"But my own bar for satisfaction is much much lower than that, and I strongly suspect Adam's is, too. As long as Adam can still make a decent living writing and performing music that satisfies him and his fans, I hope that that is what he does with at least a good chunk of his time. And I have no doubt that he can be happy doing so." Midwifespal, thanks for the thoughtful post. I am respectfully disagreeing about the above however. I cannot imagine someone in the dog eat dog world of Hollywood not wanting world domination. And to fill arenas and stadiums on his own. Here's hoping that A3 gets him there. If it doesn't but produces strong music and at least a radio hit or two that would be amazing. I have to disagree -- I don't think that Adam wants "world domination" or is interested in achieving fame at any cost. Adam has said that he wants to be true to himself, explore his own vision, and that he wants longevity. Yes, he has achieved a level of success that few have, and I think he will be around for a while, but he has taken risks even knowing that some of those risks would cost him. ** On A3 -- it might be awesome or not, it might produce hits or not -- it is a high risk business where 16.4 of 17 major label albums are misses (releases in the past 12 months). Personally, all I want is new Adam music that I love, that fans love and that music listeners appreciate -- I do not care if "Radio" plays it at all.

Two - Four - Six - Eight Who do we appreciate Mid Wifes Pal, I said Mid Wifes Pal! I don't even have a bar (OK, maybe a small very well stocked one) I just want A3 and for Adam to tour in the US. Austin has great venues of all sizes Adam and you have never been here. TBH, I think Adam's bar is high! But I have no worries! To each his/her own. I think Adam has been on a steady trajectory up. Absolutely nothing has happened to make me think anything else. Quite the opposite. He has had one amazing fairy tale year. What is the measure for success? I think resounding critical acclaim and recognition of the surreal voice he has, touring with one of the most respected bands in the history of rock who love him to pieces, a free and clear gorgeous home with several million in the bank on top, most likely offers he doesn't have time to accept and a label that is not afraid to fund him. He keeps jumping over progressively higher and higher bars. Haven't seen a tumble yet.

What I want for Adam? I only want to watch and enjoy what he want us to see. I want him to be happy in whatever way that means.I think Adam is a man who will always be going for that prize, over the next mountain and his journey will prob be convoluted with music, Broadway and acting. Perhaps not no much dance but could be included. Art?

I don't think Adam is a failure if he doesn't tour arenas on his own. But I can't imagine he wouldn't want to. Remember this from post AMAs? Slezak interview, beginning to :30. Maybe he's cool having 1000 core fans follow him around the country but I think he would love to be at Sam Smith level, just for the casual fan's appreciation of the music. Adam is more famous still than his own music. QAL didn't help matters in that regard but obviously helped in other ways. It is amazing to watch the evolution of his stagecraft which was already high to begin with. youtu.be/VhKibHP2ctQEta: is his "place secured"? Maybe A3 will make that happen.

I think radio play is important. And since we as fans are guessing what Adam wants or thinks, I think he wants radio play - a lot. ...
