I have noticed a change taking place this week here in Tampa Bay, Florida...Queen radio play!! I normally just listen to the radio when I am in my car. I listen to a variety of music stations, switching constantly until I find a song I like. Well....every time I tune to the our classic rock station, I hear a Queen song. Very rarely heard that before this week. This morning they played 2 in a row!! Then yesterday I tuned in the oldies station, and for the first time, I heard them play a Queen song!! I can only deduct that Queen music is hot right now, because of the QAL tour. I wish I was hearing Adam with Queen, but I am sure all this exposure is helping him, and of course Queen music is getting a big boost. The tour helped, of course, but don't forget that the restored Live At The Rainbow '74 drops this week and that is a VERY BIG DEAL for Queen fans and classic rock fans as well.

There is a station in Tampa Bay called Thunder and they have always played a lot of Queen, long before the tour.

I stumbled upon this Adam video from 2 1/2 yrs ago. Unbelievably revealing!! He is answering fan questions from around the world, prior to the release of Trespassing. Lots of deep thoughts about his music and performing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8SeSTgusRII cannot believe I have not seen this. Thanks for bringing it over. Can you also put it in the thread for great interviews? The most revealing/honest answer for me was at about 30:00 when he was asked about how to handle personal vs. professional demands, and how does he prioritize that. His answer was not the least bit surprising, having known all the artists I have over the years. It was hearing him admit it so openly that impressed me. It is also why I don't expect Adam to settle down to a committed, lifetime relationship any time in the near future. I know it is cliche, but he IS married to his career. ETA: Aleks, I thought that had to be your question. Whoooo hooo.

Off to listen to rest of video (after listening to Adam hum/sing maybe one more time).

Unpopular opinion alert....I get really annoyed by the older fans making themselves SO visible within this fandom. It really does Adam absolutely NO favors for his fan base to be viewed as predominately older females and in the U.S. And that is sadly how his fan base is viewed, rightly or wrongly. I get it, I love Adam too but I am NOT in the demographic that radio seeks so I follow Adam online, I go to his concerts, I buy his music, I discuss him with other fans but I DO NOT advertise my age for everyone to see (and I am only in my early 40s). I don't go to radio events or join contests not aimed for me and I don't go out of my way to "explain" why women of a certain age are fans. i am not saying these ladies shouldn't be fans. They should. Adam loves all his fans and needs them all too but perhaps they could think more about what their constant visibility does to Adam's credibility as a current and relevant pop artist in the industry today and pull back a bit from making everyone so AWARE of them. glitter - yes this is an unpopular opinion! Especially for me A fan should be a fan without thinking: am I too old? Am I pretty enough? Am I tall enough? I know that Adam's fandom often is viewed as older women (sparkle cows ) - but whoever is a fan, is a fan and you can make yourself visible how much you want.
