A little off-topic, but I have been watching the new television show from Amazon called "Transparent" about an older man transitioning to become a woman. The show stars Jeffrey Tambor, and it is truly excellent and thought-provoking. All the actors are great and it shows the complicated nature of family dynamics amidst change. Worth watching -- and here is the Adam connection: in the opening credits there is a young man performing at a family event like a wedding, and he really reminds me of Adam (when you watch, you will definitely know who I am talking about). www.amazon.comI might check that out. A former music student of mine who is in high school has just presented himself at school this year as a female, I learned through the grape vine. I had her for lessons for the two previous years and knew this was coming--hormones began last year. I just checked in with her via email and she wrote back that it all feels very liberating and she sounds peaceful. I hope she is being treated well by peers and others. I can't imagine what that all feels like, even though she confided quite a bit in me. Sometimes we private music teachers provide an adult sounding board for our students and I feel honored to have done that for this student. |

So disappointed. I downloaded the Summersonic video this afternoon before it was taken down. Unfortunately, the video is amazing, but there is no sound. Should have checked it right away. I'm on a Mac and it downloaded as a .MP4 file format. Can't play it at all. It looks like it should open in QuickTime--but doesn't. Waaaaa! |

If you are an original Adam Lambert Fan Club member, your membership expired this month. No notices were sent out. So you need to go to the site to renew! $10.29. Can't believe they didn't send out notices! :( oh for heaven's sake!! Grrrrrrr....what subscription service doesn't send out notices!? |
