I love this series and I love the books! Read them a few years ago, 3 years ago maybe? Now I am re-reading Outlander, and have just gotten past the spanking, and will revisit the torrid love scene after they got back to Leoch.
Some good embellishments in the TV series, but following the story line pretty close.
And that actor that plays Jamie? HOT HOT HOT!!!!!!
Really enjoying this.

i'm missing the show right now. We are in San Diego and I foolishly put Directv on vacation so I can't use on demand. At least I have them to look forward to when I get home! And if they don't take it to the spanking scene...:(

Dutchess and I began this convo through PM. Here's one of my posts:I thought you were of that heritage, and that you read the books. I've listened to them all, including some Lord John 'tweeners. Love them. Galbaldon is one of the most olfactory authors I've ever read...so interesting, as I'm really sensitive to smells, and love how realistic she is with bodily functions. Love that Claire is a Doctor!! I think there are a few errors as to what was actually available and/word usage, but all in all, well-researched. Nice blend of romance and historical fiction. Love the views on Native Americans, and that Lord John is gay. What an imagination! She is good at touching on modern themes while keeping the history in sort of a "you are there" through character interactions.
Are you watching the TV series on Starz? I'm enjoying it. The Wedding was very sensuous.
No, I'm not really communicating with other Atops, but I got into the books after the hallway conversations with Glamberts in Vegas. I think you may have been at one of those convos, either that or I had a hallucination re: your background.
To answer Tinafea's question: the spanking sounds about right, though I've not thought about it until your conjecture.
Other than the wedding, I think the most haunting scene is the Black Jack Randall/Claire interrogation with the Jamie flaying flashback.
I also like how the personification of evil across the sea and in the Colonies in Sam (is it? )repeats the pattern of villainy without being repetitious.

Is the spanking scene soon after they were wed? I'm reading the 4th book now, and can't remember many details from the first one! Oh god I do hope they have a spanking scene! That would be *58husdfp89yp23h@aslkdjf. I read that they plan to deviate from the book in this episode tonight, to show some of Frank's situation and what he does after Claire disappears. I guess this is a good idea, because I just haven't got that into the actor who plays Frank/Captain Jack-maybe I just don't have a connection because the books don't really flesh Frank out too much. The TV show is trying to show his humanity, flesh out his character I guess. I am much more interested in Jamie (Sam) - it's hard to imagine any woman not being into him, OMG - I love his look, his acting, facial expressions, EVERYTHING. I think he was the best casting of the lot, also think Dougal is well cast, I like the actress who portrays Claire but its taken me a while to warm up to her, and feel as connected. My Jamie/Sam connection was instant for me, kinda like when I first saw Adam lol! What can I say, I like pretty boys  Last night, I watched all 7 episodes again in preparation for #8 lol! |

Yeah my son came from Austin to visit and has att uverse and signed me into his account! I can now watch. I bet they save the spanking until next season and play it up to get viewer back!  |
