Ok, they succeeded! I feel a bit more connected to Frank now, and they did a good job of showing that Claire is still wanting to get back (for the moment) to him. After that wedding episode, not sure I would ever buy she wanted to leave Jamie lol.
Those rape and near rape scenes were pretty hard to watch, I'm sure there is going to be worse when we get to the Black Jack/Jamie scenes (wonder how graphic they will be hmm).
The way Jack laughed at Jamie in the window, so evil, and like he has no fear....oh he's a bad one alright!
Guess I'll have to look towards next Spring for the possible spanking.................
Have ya'all read the books? I'm on book 4 which is really getting into the relationship between Bree and Roger more and I'm having a hard time feeling as attached to them as Jamie/Claire - like, I don't really care what they do. Will this get better, can anyone tell me, is there more character development? Well, maybe I don't really want spoilers, not sure ha.

Bree bugged me occasionally but she is improving. Keep reading. I've read them all, many times. I've read the Black Jack/Jamie scenes will be hard. Sam is very proud of his work on those episodes. That's all he says. I love Sam, funny how he was the first one cast. Still find it hard to believe he isn't a true redhead but is blond :D

Sam just IS Jamie to me, yep he's a redhead to me too, it just fits him!

Writers will go back to work in a few weeks to begin writing for season 2, "Dragonfly in Amber". It took them a full calendar year to film the 16 episodes of season 1. Who knows when they will air season 2, Dragonflt in Amber. My guess is January 2016. I would be shocked if they start airing those next August. I hope I am wrong.

With the success of this first series of episode I think it bodes well for all the books to be used in the series. By the time this have done this DB should have another book out. I've been surprised at how well they have followed the books. Perhaps not chapter by chapter but the story line has been basically the same. The actors they have for the characters have been phenomenal. Jamie and Clarie are as I pictured, well really the whole cast, which has been genius because I don't think DB was involved in the casting. I just finished the last episode and am so glad I know how the story goes, otherwise the waiting would be horrible. Soo... guess they will open with the spanking sequence. Can you imagine this being tried to script for a movie. Bet it would have been mangled.

The spanking teasers will get the show plenty of coverage. I would like all the books done on the show but if not that then I would be quite happy with the first 3 books. The ending for Voyager would not be a bad place to stop. RE Casting, Sam is spot on for Jamie. Cait is slightly different than my mind imagined but close enough. She's a bit too tall and too slim but she has Claire's personality down so I'm in. Dougal looked entirely different but Graham is great so I'm happy. And I love Rupert and Angus. I have a feeling I will be sobbing for Rupert next season.

It is just too much material for a movie, so glad it's been done this way! But it's really major motion picture quality in terms of casting, set design, the writing... well everything! So glad I discovered the books through my Adam bud die, JustKaren (thanks!) and now the show, loving it. And my daughter is hooked on the show too, although she hasn't read any of it, so doesn't seem necessary to attract viewers.

Ha Tina, now I need to go re-read how Voyager ends! I agree, I imagined Claire (and she was described as) having more curves than Cait - she has a model's figure, and her beauty is a bit "icier" than I envisioned. I sometimes feel she is a bit too aloof, but she has a very challenging role and for the most part, has converted me-I hope to see her become just a little more passionate in the 2nd half.
