Dutchess and I began this convo through PM. Here's one of my posts:I thought you were of that heritage, and that you read the books. I've listened to them all, including some Lord John 'tweeners. Love them. Galbaldon is one of the most olfactory authors I've ever read...so interesting, as I'm really sensitive to smells, and love how realistic she is with bodily functions. Love that Claire is a Doctor!! I think there are a few errors as to what was actually available and/word usage, but all in all, well-researched. Nice blend of romance and historical fiction. Love the views on Native Americans, and that Lord John is gay. What an imagination! She is good at touching on modern themes while keeping the history in sort of a "you are there" through character interactions. Are you watching the TV series on Starz? I'm enjoying it. The Wedding was very sensuous. No, I'm not really communicating with other Atops, but I got into the books after the hallway conversations with Glamberts in Vegas. I think you may have been at one of those convos, either that or I had a hallucination re: your background. To answer Tinafea's question: the spanking sounds about right, though I've not thought about it until your conjecture. Other than the wedding, I think the most haunting scene is the Black Jack Randall/Claire interrogation with the Jamie flaying flashback. I also like how the personification of evil across the sea and in the Colonies in Stephen repeats the pattern of villainy without being repetitious.

I've watched the episodes over again. Now without waiting for the next plot twist or line I can appreciate other things. Scotland is one of the most beautiful places on earth and they are giving the scenery its due. I really want to visit again. The accent takes me about 3 days to get into the rhythm then I have to be careful not to fall into the accent as some people might think I am mocking them.
The photography in places is so beautiful.. Claire coming into the church and silhouetted in the arched doorway with Jamie and Dougal behind her, the ring rolling and reflecting Claire as she retrieved it from between the floor boards was, I think inspired.
Now I want to know what they were eating. I don't remember a description in the book. I think cheese but what else? they may be overestimating a person's ability to drink unlimited amounts of whiskey too! While I was reading the books I would highlight food names and go look up the receipe! Haven't tried any yet but I think I will!

I just finished reading Dragonfly in Amber, and am now re-reading Outlander. I don't really understand why she named the 2nd book Dragonfly......
Loved the wedding episode, it was really hot! I have for a long time been really suprized by the graphicness of TV sex these days, seems it is pretty much pornographic now. But, that wedding episode, I thought was very well done and didn't seem pornographic to me at all. Guess I've come a long way, baby, but it was done in very good taste I thought.
I started reading the 3rd book, way back, and just couldn't get into it. Guess I wanted more of Jamie! I will try it again...... I really wish it was April.

Voyager is one of my favorites of all of the books. You didn't get far enough. It is SO GOOD

I know what you mean mahailia, I had bought her new one and had a hard time getting into it. I figured it had been too long since I had read the series and started over. I went through them all in a month! Dh luckily had baseball at the time, because I wasn't talking! I bought a kindle and got all the books. I had them at one time but one of the problems with RVing is lack of space for books. When we went on this adventure I gave 450 hardbacks to the local library and then when I bought books I did not have room to keep them. Don't know why I didn't buy a Kindle earlier but love it, can read where ever! I'm reading The Handmaiden again right now since I went through all the Jamie/Claire books and Lord John.

Thank you for the wedding butt Duchess!!!!!!!!! Why is there a 4 and a 5 on his rear end though??
I have read 4 of the books now, and they really have all been page turners for me, though now I'm re-reading Outlander because I'm so obsessed with Jamie lolol - now that I have a visual image, it's been really fun re-reading and creating the scenes in my head. I'll be getting the 5th book soon, have to wait a bit as I tend to read all night and then I'm a zombie the next day.
I have watched the wedding episode almost every night #cray - and I'm calling it porno for women.
Adam better do some more exciting stuff soon because it's going to be along wait until April........
How were the Lord John stories? Worth reading? I use my iPad and love it - the only problem is that I can't share the books with others unless I give them my iPad (not happening). Also, I have been known to read so long that I run out of battery.
