The majority of people who hear it on the radio do not listen to Adam's interviews about song meanings. Taking the lyrics for face value, it is about putting your dancing shoes on and going to an underground club to get your kicks, whatever they may be. Bruno Mars could sing this song! Any straight artist could! In Pop, lyrics aren't even that important! It's all about the beat! And the hook! And Shady just sticks in your head!
