Question for the day!

What song do you most want Q+AL to add to their setlist for the UK-Europe Tour?
I have many songs on my Queen fav list that I want to hear live…..”Innuendo”, “Hangman”, “You Take My Breath Away”, “Lily of the Valley”, “Body Language” (not just the bass solo but with Adam singing – in black leather), “Princes of the Universe”, “Nevermore” (not just the bass solo clip), “Pain is so Close To Pleasure” etc. etc.
But if I have to pick just one song, I want to hear “White Queen (As It Began)” from Side White of Queen II (1974).
This song is perfect for Queen + Adam Lambert. It is (IMHO) one of Brian’s best song composition. The song combines contrasting acoustic and heavy metal sections. Brian cites one of my favorite pieces of literature, The White Goddess by Robert Graves, as inspiration. He also said that the song was about a fellow student whom he revered and thought represented the idea of the "perfect woman". In an interview he said, "I remember being totally in love with this girl from biology, and I never ever talked to her...I [was] dead to ask out this girl, and she became a lifelong friend, it's very strange...".
Queen performed “White Queen” regularly between 1974 and 1977 but have not performed it for almost 40 years – since the Wembley Arena show in London, England on May 13, 1978. It is time to bring it back.

"White Queen (As It Began)"
So sad her eyes
Smiling dark eyes
So sad her eyes
As it began
On such a breathless night as this
Upon my brow the lightest kiss
I walked alone
And all around the air did say
My lady soon will stir this way
In sorrow known
The white queen walks and
The night grows pale
Stars of lovingmess in her hair
Needing - unheard
Pleading - one word
So sad my eyes
She cannot see
How did thee fare, what have thee seen
The mother of the willow green
I call her name
And 'neath her window have I stayed
I loved the footsteps that she made
And when she came
White queen how my heart did ache
And dry my lips no word would make
So still I wait
My goddess hear my darkest fear
I speak too late
It's for evermore that I wait
Dear friend goodbye
No tear in my eyes
So sad it ends
As it began
Brian May responds to a fan – and makes me so

This not surprising but very nice to read reason for Queen + Adam Lambert’s limited tour schedule made me no happy. I am a huge, beyond huge, Queen and Queen + Adam Lambert fan, but I also really want to see Adam as a solo artist. I want A3. I want a solo Adam Lambert concert or 26 to see – and dates somewhere I can drive. [Adam, there is nothing wrong with Ohio!! )
So when Brian May posted this response to a letter from the Queen Fan Club from Mexico on his Soapbox today re: touring in additional countries, it just make me grin!
"Well, Francisco - thanks for writing.
First of all, I can tell you we haven’t forgotten Mexico. And we never will ! And it would be great to come there and play … of that there is no doubt.
But it’s only possible to do one thing at a time. And our lives are very full, and we are not as young as we used to be !
For now we will put in as many dates as we can in as many of the Queen-friendly cities as we can, commensurate with still having a semblance of home life and balance in the Autumn of our years !
The dates depend on someone in each city coming up with a suitable offer to promote the shows in a venue suitable for our present production.
But also, of course we may have only a finite window of opportunity as far as working with Adam Lambert. And, physically, there are limits to what anyone can take on in any one period.
Life is what it is ! It will never be perfect, and it’s never possible to please everyone ! But we will do the best we can.
In the meantime, again … we won’t forget you !
Cheers

American Idol Season 14: What Changes Should Viewers Expect? Lesser Air Time, Higher Standards And More!
BY Gracie Smith | Oct 06, 2014 10:04 PM EDT
..... deleted all the none Adam bits at the start.....
Aside from the change in show hours, American Idol judges Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick, Jr and Keith Urban (as well as guest judge Adam Lambert) will have higher standards when it comes to picking contestants for primetime.
"We're not putting people through based on, 'Maybe in a few weeks they'll really get into it.' There's no time for that." Connick said, according to TVLine.
It doesn't mean that they won't be looking for contestants with raw talent either.
He further explained, "But I don't know if it's about coming in more polished, as opposed to coming in with a greater wealth of talent. We've seen people who are really raw, but you can tell when the bright lights go on them, they're going to be able to bring it."
That doesn't mean they won't be trained as hard as the past seasons, though.
"I want to have the middle rounds, I want them to have their time to adjust to this craziness," JLo shared.
They won't just be looking for talent as well.
Lambert pointed out that "it's more than just having a nice-sounding voice. It's about the complete package: It's the look, it's the vibe, it's the personality. Hello, hello, personality!"
Lambert - who was a finalist in the said show - also gave the 'American Idol' season 14 contestants a challenge.
