Another irony. Didn't the rift happen because Monte wanted to collaborate with Adam on a hard rock album and Adam wasn't interested? And now, Adam wins a prestigious award for being frontman for "The Best Rock Band". Ironic indeed. It must have been something along those lines, I think probably just a song or two. A Monte/Adam collaboration was not included on Trespassing and feelings were hurt. The end of Monte's and Adam's relationship came over the rights dispute over the old Citizen Vein recordings which Monte wanted released and Adam clearly did not. As far as I know, they have not spoken to each other since. And there is no doubt what happened because Monte's wife committed Twitter-cide and tweeted angerly about it. |

I know MP is a rock guitarist (didn't know he has a band though), but I'm just surprised he chose to go to an award show where he knew Adam is gonna be, and probably guessed he'd win, same as we guessed it. IDK, to me, him being there and watching his former friend and band mate take an award, give a speech, and win the honor and respect of everyone, makes him look kind of pathetic, doesn't it? or maybe it's just me being a bad person...  Call me a cock-eyed optimist (obscure musical theater reference), but I think it would be wonderful if this was an opportunity for both to bury the hatchet and remember the good times together. Celebrate the work that both are now doing. Hey, it could happen. (Tho' not likely, I admit.) What I do know is this. Adam and Brian were not at the pre show cocktail hour. It was assumed that was when they had the M&G with the contest winners. Monte's table was right next to the Osbourne's table. Adam did not go the extra steps to go to Monte's table. Adam did not go to the after party. So, my guess is, they had zero contact last night! |

I believe the relationship was on the skids due to Monte not being included in any collabs for Trespassing. The cause of Lisa's twitter meltdown. (I have this on local people's knowledge, who were aware of what was "going down." This was around July 2011, before the bastard album 2. ) Then the bastard album was the nail in the coffin. As I recall, this also included the producer of that Beg for Mercy album where he and Monte reworked some of the old recordings, Citizen Vein and others, and packaged them up without a clear statement on the label of what they were. It confused some radio stations for a bit. Lawsuits were filed, then dropped. Also, Monte displayed a lot of social cluelessness on twitter in the process of trying to maintain a connection with Adam. All a big mess! Glad it is just a piece of history and hasn't been a hot issue for a long time. peace&love |

Q3 - Oh yeah, forgot about Citizen Vein.
Cassie - sonically you are completely correct. A tenor part, where the character is so tragically romantic, would be better, especially if it meant singing "You've Got to be Carefully Taught".
Juniemoon - Emile's songs are great and he is so sophisticated and heroic. Adam would just be swoon-worthy.
