New tour dates? So not surprised and so happy for all of them! I just have to say again that all the QAL love is amazing and so freaking incredible, and I'm feeling even stronger about the whole thing than I was before. I think last week brought me over the edge. I am very interested in Adam's new solo work, but I also love the ride that we're getting now. Super excited to see X Factor at the end of the month. Even though it has only been a few short months since they performed together, I can't wait to see what they do. I might be in a different place than some people but my QAL love is beyond overwhelming me these days! I am in the very same place. On that November night in 2011 at the EMA's, I turned to my husband when that tall dark figure began singing TSMGO and said "Remember this day. This is going to change everything." I love Adam's solo work but I never wavered from my conviction that the Queen collaboration was going to give him the credibility that would allow him to soar in all his undertakings. He deserved it on his own but for whatever reason, he needed the catalyst. And it is more than a catalyst for his own solo success. It is a monumental achievement in its own right - reinvigorating and reinventing Queen. Bringing such joy to the band, to himself and to all of us. Miraculous. Mythical. I can't get over the forces of collective karma that brought this about. Reading all the press these days - the pyro-voiced Adam Lambert joins Queen ....etc. etc. coming out of British sites with no FLD makes me beyond thrilled.
I love Adam in all his iterations. (My bolding above) This takes me back to the days when Adam was constantly described as ' the openly gay singer' and he joked that one day he would be known as the 'openly Grammy winning singer'....and that has happened. Gradually he has come to be seen, and hailed, as something so much more than gay and the epithet seems to be fast disappearing. He kept his nerve and we kept the faith. And now the same is happening with the 'he's no Freddie' thing. Adam is steering his own path through this tricky ground and by sheer personality and talent, is beginning to transcend the FLD thing.....and soon the world will know Queen and Freddie and Queen and Adam -and both will be equally loved and accepted.

The shift in attitude regarding Adam is thrilling to see. Especially in the UK. Love the descriptor "pyro-voiced." But, also I'm amused/pleased with the headline of the story: “X Factor UK” be forewarned: Adam Lambert + his crew in Queen are coming to your set — and they will absolutely, positively ROCK YOU! Brian and Roger are now considered "his crew"????

From your lips to media ears... I can only pray and hope but honestly IMO we'll have to live thru the FLDs all over again once the reviews roll in... and I am not sure I care anymore! Reality speaks for itself regardless! Today's announcement made my day! What a great confirmation of great demand for the tickets! And having the end of the tour in the UK is just beautiful! Plus there are a few days between Feb. 19th and Feb. 24th, we could possibly have another date(s) added there!

Yep....already mustering the forces after the initial shock...LOL. Feel sure I'll be capable of taking a couple more concerts for the team.....and Liverpool! Really my backyard....All these are so close (a reminder of what a small nation we are) that it seems almost churlish not to go..... Seriously thinking of taking a group of civilians to Liverpool but.....does anyone else find that otherwise lovely, supportive, lifelong friends turn into annoying pests that need swatting where Adam is concerned? Eww! What are all those gold fringes? Well, they are gold fringes. Next.

Wembley...it has a certain ring to it. You know you have made it when you play this arena. Queen has played this arena many a time, but for Adam, it's probably another item NOT on his short-list.
What a feeling Adam must be experiencing.

I love your posts, lelemaple and theosgma! Nothing like having it repeated in the press worldwide that Adam's is the one voice of this generation to reawaken a beloved, iconic band to negate any stigma imposed by his American Idol affiliation and cement his credibility. It's so exciting!

So, I kid you not, there's a new young teen sensation on Kelly and Michael this a.m. - Sean Mendez (sp) singing Something Big and wearing a plaid shirt, playing a guitar - the lyrics are repetitive - Adam doesn't stand a chance against this kind of competition.

SophieB.......Normally, I'd say no to taking civilians....you have to accomodate them, etc. taking your focus off Adam.....but maybe just for the one concert in Liverpool...you can make a sacrifice. It's not like you don't have many others to yourself, ahem... and who knows it might turn out to be fun for everyone and perhaps we'll get a new convert or two. LOL
