1. I think Adam was cognizant of the camera angles. He even did the sexy eyes he did on Satisfaction. He's also conscious of what he can do on TV, and was representing Queen as well as himself. 2. The show was taped and they could have edited out a question to Roger for time purposes, although I agree, it came off as disrespectful. 3. I agree it is very generous of Brian and Roger to do NYE.i think it is masterful in terms of PR for Queen Forever, the European tour, and of course, eventually for A3. There's a looming time limit to this collaboration, but what a kick for them to get to perform their music for a new generation. Agree with all the points! The staging was "friendly" to TV cameras, focused "center stage" by design IMO. Adam's facial expressions were very relaxed, filled with fun and warmth. He did a little of thrusting and a half twirl - all "family show appropriate". It was perfect IMO. The interview part was somewhat awkward. I think Roger was too far from the host, who would've had to stand in front of Brian to talk to Roger and perhaps that was the reason for the glaring omission. He asked two questions of Brian and obviously those could've been asked one to Brian and one to Roger... Overall , we are over-analyzing (as we usually do) and it was mind blowing to everyone who saw QAL for the first time. Having a 30 mins to 90 mins QAL concert on BBC 1 TV is beyond my wildest expectations! What a spectacular end to 2014 and a beginning of 2015!!!!!

Can you imagine if the "Queen thing" hadn't worked out? Adam seems very pleased with his association with Queen and vice versa. So, the album gets pushed back some - everyone involved is making good money and setting themselves up for artistic and creative freedom on down the line. I can be patient for A3. It was destiny, I truly believe that. Everything happens for a reason! In this case, Adam was meant to be with this band for a period of time to become the legend that he is destined to be and it was not Brian and Roger's time to retire. It is all part of some master plan that goes beyond our Earthly imaginations. I know I sound corny, but so many things in my own life happened in this way.

JMHO -- if Adam can break through in the UK, yes, it will be very important in the US. And being on the BBC One + BBC Radio 1 NYE broadcast will help that effort. **** The magnitude of Queen + Adam Lambert being on this program is just hitting me. In 2013, the BBC One NYE TV programme (just 15 minutes in length -- the fireworks part) was 2013's most watched programme of the year in the UK -- 13,520,000 viewers. It was preceded and following by a special concert from Gary Barlow in London; receiving 8.80m and 6.38m viewers respectively. The total program was 90 minutes last year. Last year there were multiple artists with Gary Barlow as the "headline" concert. [Gary Barlow was the frontman and lead vocalist of British pop-group Take That and served as a judge on series 8, 9 and 10 of The X Factor.] I assume but have not researched the list of artists for this year, but expect that there will be/are multiple artists again. So Adam gets to be on the UK's #1 TV programme, and we get a full concert live stream! The interesting thing is that the announcement did not mention "special guests" or "surprise appearances" or "featuring other stars" - NOTHING of the sort. Rather the announcement says" Queen + Adam Lambert are performing an exclusive concert " ..."The exclusive performance will feature some of their most legendary hits performed by Adam as their impressive front man, continuing the legacy of iconic lead singer Freddie Mercury."... Last year’s New Year’s Eve celebrations, featuring Gary Barlow’s Big Ben Bash Live, were watched by a peak of almost 14 million people between 23.15 and 00.30am."
So, I am not sure there will be "multiple" artists... but I know nothing of course...just trying to read between the lines. I wonder how the 2013 event announcement was worded...As far as I can tell, this year is going to be a 90 minutes program with a Q+AL concert and a 15 minute break for the fireworks over the Thames. It will also be broadcast on BBC Radio One and LiveStreamed.

Perhaps either Q3 or UK fans can clarify what I am about to say regarding Adam's radio success in the UK. I seem to remember these things from Adam's last attempt to crack that market. First, I remember people saying that the BBC radio stations only allot a small portion of their playlist to artists from outside the UK. Not sure what percentage it is. Second, and most important, ability of the artist to get on the playlist depends ON FIRST WEEK SALES,. Again not sure what amount is needed to crack the list. This is very different from how radio play works in the US, from my understanding. Before now, Adam has been relatively unknown in the UK as AI is not on regular cable there. His massive exposure to the viewers of the NYE show, both UK and abroad, should help with people getting to know him. I have also read that the UK market is one of the most important in the world in that it sets the trends, and what sells there will sell in Europe and the rest of the world. So, imo, this is a critical time for Adam and his management team. I have been so impressed with what they have done so far! First, successful tour with Adam winning over many more fans.....later album 3. resphil7 - Welcome to ATOP! and All the developments in 2014 were brilliant so far and I have no doubt the plan for 2015 is as brilliant!

Absolutely amazing performance last night. Only one song was the most probable option which did its job (medley was a wish). Even with the inclusion of the contestants (very nicely done) it worked in Adam's favour and created buzz for him and the tour. Now this really exciting announcement of NYE concert! Adam will no longer be a stranger to the BBC audiences which is not just the UK but many other countries too. You remember Adam saying in an old interview that first time around promoting around the world he was astonished how far AI reached and that via the programme he had fans in many far-away places. The same pattern goes for X Factor UK (wiki listing of countries is just part of it, others get the show too; Finland f.ex. with two weeks delay). Also BBC events and shows are sold to many countries, the holiday season programming is filled with musical events. In the music scene Britain has a big impact in Europe. All this exposure will make a big difference in awareness of 'this guy with a phenomenal voice singing for Queen'. Now they got it right and this QAL collaboration will make a difference for Adam when the TV reaches a massive amount of new people (compared to the tour that reaches fans and music aficionados who attend or read the reviews). Great times! [img src=" Belle...I love you post!!
I thought the performance was amazing and that the UK audience (by comments they posted) were stunned and in awe of Adam and his VOICE!! Many in the UK woke up today knowing who the amazing guy with the 'insane voice' was.... Ladies and Gentlemen we give you AFL!!

Are the presale tickets for NYE gone now? I am losing control over the temptation to go!

It does seem that the "Universe" was at work on this one as it has slowly and steadily evolved from Adam's audition (Ma-ma I just killed a man....) to the Idol Finale to a mini tour to the iHR Festival to now doing this massive worldwide tour and now being THE concert for the UK's NYE! It also must be a wild ride for Brian and Roger. Before this is over, I predict there will be at least one gigantic stadium concert event -- like Queen in the 1980's.
