Here you go...ennegram's are used for many purposes. This may be closer to what Adam had in mind:  ' The center pyramid is also referred to as darma. ETA: The Ennegram of Personality (posted earlier) does not seem to work with the Pyramid image in the center. There are many, many ennegrams and associated meanings. What changes in them is the outer system of associations -- the pyramid is usually the soul, essence, darma, inner being. I think you mean dharma - alignment to natural world or the universal truths. Some say life purpose. Ethical concepts of Buddhism is another one. Complicated word and concept for a simple English equivalent. Can fill libraries with its meaning. Sanskrit has "aspirated" and non aspirated consonants. The "h" of dharma makes it an aspirated consonant - there is a little more "air" in its pronunciation. If you spell it darma, it means a destroyer or demolisher. A little air makes a big difference! LOL Yes, y'all know I can't spell!  I mean dharma. |

It is not a heptogram which is a seven-pointed star. [In English I think it is usually Heptagram] It is clearly an enneagram -- very different origin and meanings. It is associated with the number 9. enneagram is a system of spiritual psychology based on an ancient Sufi typology of nine personality types or primary roles with the recognition of one's type tantamount to a spiritual awakening. It is reinterpreted in many ways. One reinterpretation use the findings of modern psychology regarding personality. Comes from the Greek ennea [εννέα] = 'nine' and grammos = a written symbol. *** I think the number 9 is important. There are 9 muses in Greek mythology. Scales have 9 notes. *** ETA: I generally do not like tattoos -- but I really like this tattoo. I am not sure what it means but it fells centered and powerful. I wonder if it is connected to the A3 era? |

Setting aside the newest tattoo,
Has anybody ever thought about what Adam must think and feel way down at his core to permanently label himself a "savage beast" on one arm that only music can soothe and a "freak of nature" on the other arm. A beast and a freak. Altho written in Latin.......the words are powerful. These are not special to him abstract, symbolic, artistic images...these are understandable words with meanings. He's so complex and so creative and I'm so simple. I can't imagine what it would be like to be inside his head. I don't think I could survive.

Just thinking about this tattoo, I get the shivers. while it is beautiful and has meaning to him, the shivers came from the pain he must have experienced getting this tattoo.
Sorry, I'm a chicken at heart, and a green one at that.
I am not much of a tattoo fan, but I have to admit his are really nice and do look really great on him.
Why do I get the feeling this is not complete. The location on his arm leads to some connecting tattoos in the furure, me thinks. |

The "beast" one has context -- "Musica Delenit Bestiam Feram" which means 'Music soothes the savage beast' The other has no context and I do not think he ever explained -- "Lusus Naturae" which means "Freak of Nature". But none of his tattoos have the symbolic complexity of this new one. My guess is that it is his concept/design idea. ETA: He has one tattoo that is beautifully done but I do not like....  |

I agree. Beautifully done, but the eyes bother me and I'm not a big fan of horns. But we know Adam loves horns and skulls and the like. Other than the simple infinity that links us fans, I love the big Q. Now that one I fully understand and appreciate!!!
