Just saw this tweet from Mark....our multicam Queen guy..... seems he thinks there will be more to the concert than is shown on TV.

I had NetJet pilots stay at my Inn when they flew clients to the OuterBanks. It was interesting to talk to them. They would fly all over the place.

I am so glad this video is being used to promote the upcoming QAL concerts. And since it is being used for this, hopefully it won't be taken down off YouTube anytime soon. The schedule has not changed and is the same as last year. "The broadcast of the event will be presented by BBC Radio One presenters Greg James and Gemma Cairney. Last year’s New Year’s Eve celebrations, featuring Gary Barlow’s Big Ben Bash Live, were watched by a peak of almost 14 million people between 23.15 and 00.30am." That is 11:15 to 12:30AM. The show covers the massive London Fireworks show starting around 11:45 and ending at midnight. Then returns to Q+AL. So the most they can broadcast is about 1 hour of Q+AL. The concert is scheduled to start at 10:30PM so the first 45 minutes will not be broadcast. The 15 minutes during the fireworks show will not be broadcast, and if they run past 12:30PM that will not be broadcast. What is not clear on the BBC site and press releases is what will be live streamed by BBC One, or by BBC Radio. ETA: All I can find on the live stream is this, "It has been confirmed this morning by the BBC that Queen + Adam Lambert will be playing an exclusive concert this New Year’s Eve in London, and what’s more, it will be streamed LIVE on BBC One." It may be that they livestream the TV program and no more. Outside of the UK, we can only get this through online rehosters. ETA 2: I can't believe I did it but I watch that Gary Barlow video from last year -- and to save you the pain -- here is the scoop. He began the concert when the broadcast started and there was 40 minutes of performance ending outside with a hand off to the fireworks show. The concert took a break during the fireworks which could be seen from the roof of the theater (it was a different venue last year). The program returned a few minutes after midnight with Gary leading the audience in Auld Lang Syng there was a total of 20 minutes more concert then a confetti fall. This year the audience has to stay inside for the fireworks part or they are not allowed to re-enter. So I think Q + might perform but this is not clear and I think it is possible they could take a break for about 10 minutes and maybe show the fireworks on the big screen because they will be loud where the theater is. |

HEY!! Everyone on Atop going to European concerts needs to go out to the Members Only area and update your ticket and meetup news. There are a few Atoppers from USA and elsewhere going to European concerts asking for help with local city info. Thanks!
