Then came the official introduction, which will probably be part of the recording and is sure to cause heart attacks in some Queen purists's chests: "... the last time they were guests on a German TV show was 10 years ago, so you can imagine how proud I am that they came exactly to my show tonight. Here are once again, the most legendary rock band of all times, Adam Lambert and QUEEN!" Notice the order of the names. Notice how AL+Q are announced as the most legendary band of all times. Even for me this is a bit wrong... But I can take it! Thankfully, at the end of the performance, she corrected herself and said "What an ending... with QUEEN and Adam Lambeeert!" Discuss! Actually in a strange way - I don't see this as an issue. Although maybe that's just me. Adam Lambert wasn't on a German show 10 years ago, so it's obvious the legendary rock band is Queen. I kind of saw it just as The most legendary rock band of all times...with Adam Lambert this is QUEEN. It let her end on the big moment rather than the +. I always thought that was funny when Lopez did it in iheart 2013 and when Will Smith introduced Q+PR it was always a big QUEEEEEEEEEEN and then the hurried + Paul Rodgers or + Adam Lambert it always made it seem like more of an aftermath. SO in a way I think this way works better---the greatest rock band, (now featuring Adam Lambert) QUEEEEEEN. But that's just me |
