Gee, guys. Everyone is waiting for my analysis of the inside of Adam's mouth.  ;)But I am afraid it is beyond my level of expertise. I've never looked inside my mouth or anyone else's while they are sustaining a high note with vibrato like that. I am as blown away as all of you. It certainly is a perfect example of what we have talked about. Adam has this resonance and sympathetic, harmonic vibration in his singing that is extraordinary. It looks as if everything in his body vibrates to produce that sound. How much of it is natural, how much is specific technique I am not sure. If I were to make my best guess, I would say the throat vibrations are natural and the tongue was conscious technique to enhance the vibrato. I have sent the vid to one of my much more knowledgeable friends, and will let you know if I get a more informed explanation. LOL!!! I wonder if Adam had any clue his vibrato would be "watched" with such interest today. EVERYTHING about him is so exciting/fun/interesting. Waiting to hear more from the expert... |

I have an assignment/treat for all you ninjas. I too agree that there will never be another Adam. Other Idol contestants can have successful careers, and good for them, but they will NOT be Adam. They will be themselves and hopefully there will be enough people who enjoy what they do for them to have a successful career, that's really what it comes down to. Their success or potential success takes nothing away from Adam's success, and we all agree here that he is in a class of his own.
Fun stuff in Nikka's Box!
I wanted to thank Melisende for a great Glam Nation viewing party on Sunday evening in Vancouver. It was great and wonderful to meet her as well as MsZue and Maria22pf. I had only watched the Glam Nation DVD and listened to the CD once before the party to keep it "fresh" so was more than ready to watch it again! Great people, great food, great music - what else does one need!

Inquiring minds want to know all about Adam's mouth vocal production. Angelina graciously responded and I think would be fine with my sharing her response with y'all. "I LOVE that Adam's showing us what goes on inside his mouth and upper throat like this - I'm sure he hasn't thought this through! Hahaha! Can you see the ridge in his tongue - all phenomenal natural singers have it! What you're seeing at the end is him "taking the michael," as we say here - he's manufacturing vibrato, but how fantastically strong are his muscles to be able to show it off so perfectly, don't you think?!!!" Remember, ladies and gentlemen, she is talking about his proficiency with SINGING. |
