It's perhaps a cliche to say people were born to perform or that they belong on stage - but he clearly was and does. I have seen him live so many times but this was very different; this was total control and although he will always be a generous team player, he was undoubtedly the star. The arena shows are about three men but this felt suddenly all about him. That was the thing that I took away from this - that he had transcended, not Brian and Roger, but his role as 'the new boy'....
I wonder if Roger and Brian are wondering, in the nicest way, what they have played such a big part in unleashing.
Far from making Adam more a part of Queen - I felt he was more Adam Lambert than ever.

SophieB... I love this paragraph SO MUCH!!! Yes, there is no doubt Adam was born to perform, but I think we could also say that he was born to LOVE THE AUDIENCE! That's why I get all verklempt every time I watch him sing I Was Born To Love You. Especially the Tokyo vid, where he looks out over the audience and says, "I love you so much" before he starts singing. It's that whole infinity thing... he loves the people loving him, and he was born to have that connection.

Sophie, Thank you for your beautifully written recap. I felt every word you wrote and I know exactly what you meant when you observed that,"in the nicest way, he transcended that new boy role of Queen," to emerge as himself. Even on the television screen that I was able to watch the live performance here in the US, I noticed that difference-----Adam came across as Adam Lambert in total command of the show,and at the same time exhibiting utmost respect for Brian and absolute love and connection to his audience. It was a joy to watch -and even my husband ended up watching the whole concert with me and he mentioned how classy Adam looked on the screen. I'm not sure I would use that exact word because Adam is so beautiful and sexy to me but I understood what he was trying to say. Adam knew how to present himself for such a special occasion ---and the television camera just loves that magnificent smile of his and those beautiful eyes....

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with all of us. And also for being the kind, generous soul you are, in trying to reconcile those extra tickets on a night that you were filled with such anticipation and excitement. I'm so relieved you were able to find your own ticket and proceed to your rendezvous with destiny-your magical night with our Adam.

And BristolGill--Thank you so much for your recap. I love all your bubbling over excitement--Don't know how you could contain yourself at all--BEING RIGHT THERE on that glorious night! I was sitting here in front of my television screen and was so overjoyed I kept telling my hubby ,"I can't believe you were able to set this up!" -because he surprised me with connecting my apple itune device to get the BBC broadcast.

SOOO-if you're 15 again, so am I --and aren't we the luckiest ones of all?
