Queen capped off a big comeback year with a New Year’s Eve concert in London with Adam Lambert, and the performance was pretty spectacular. Watch above for an epic rendition of “Bohemian Rhapsody” – which includes vocals from a classic video of Freddie Mercury performing the song.

In a cool twist on the band’s live performances, the band removed the famous piano breakdown from ‘Rhapsody’ and replaced it with a shortened version of “Killer Queen,” before diving back into ‘Rhapsody’s’ powerful finale.

Queen have nothing left to prove in their career renaissance, and Adam Lambert has nothing left to prove as their guest vocalist. Freddie’s songs are hard to sing, and he does a great job pulling them off. The fans in attendance don’t seem to mind who’s singing, as long as they sound great. Brian May can still shred it. And they pay plenty of fitting tributes to Freddie throughout the show.

Brian may have caused a bit of controversy with Queen purists when he said Adam can sing live “even higher than Freddie could”, but it doesn’t make Queen any less of a great rock show to see, even today.

Adam Lambert Becomes Google UK's Top Search After New Year Concert With Queen; Brian May Admits Gig 'High Pressure'

Adam Lambert skyrocketed to Google UK's top searches after his New Year Eve's concert with Queen. Brian May admitted to feeling very high pressure for the gig.

According to Entertainment Focus, the New Year's Eve concert with Adam Lambert and Queen was seen by over 12 million people in the UK.

The band performed perennial favorites such as "We Will Rock You," "We are the Champions," "The Show Must Go On" and more.

Adam Lambert + Queen was the second most searched topics on Twitter all throughout the concert.

"Following the performance 'Adam Lambert' was the most searched for term on Google UK for 24 hours," it said, adding that the New Year's Eve concert "boosted the former American Idol star's profile here in the UK."

Meanwhile, Brian May admitted that Adam Lambert and the rest of Queen members felt the pressure of performing before the huge crowd on New Year's Eve. However, he said that they had fun, according to Unreality TV.

"Thank you for your great comments about that. It was a lot of fun. High pressure of course, because it was completely live and [we had to] do it to time - we had to finish spot on at twelve o' clock," he said.

"But it was great fun and you guys who were there were amazing."

In an earlier interview, with Anti Music, Brian May feels lucky that they found Adam Lambert to front Queen since the "American Idol" alum is "so much like Freddie in many ways."

"But Adam doesn't have to try to be like Freddie, which is the nice thing. He doesn't imitate; he just does his own thing," he said. "We didn't look for this guy, [but] suddenly he's there, and he can sing all of those lines. See, they're difficult songs to sing, Queen songs. There's too much range. So many people can't sing them in the original key - even if they are good singers. Adam comes along, he can do it easy. He can do it in his sleep!"

Trouble getting Q+AL Tickets? Don't blame scalpers!

Most of the tickets to this tour have ended up in the hands of fans, not brokers. A rare thing in the UK. Yes, the brokers have some blocks of tickets but Queen really did a great job giving fans a real shot at the best tickets. 

Expecting to pick up tickets to a hot concert that went on sale in October seems a bit out-of-touch to me. But I do love that he was looking for "Adam Lambert" tickets!!

Kris who? Although Kris Allen was the winner of Idol’s Season 8, Adam Lambert was arguably the star of the show, and perhaps one of the last Idol finalists to truly become a household name. Not only was he the first openly gay artist to have an album debut at the top of the Billboard charts, but he toured with the surviving members of Queen, stepping into the big, big shoes of one Freddie Mercury.
