I don't have a Blue-Ray player either. Does it play in 1080i? What resolution is the regular DVD if played on a HD tv using a 1080i input? Is it only a 720? or less? (not that I know what that means). Is there a noticable difference ? I'm really pleased with how the GNlive looks on my reg. DVD player. Maybe I should just buy one copy for my stash/treasure chest. Oh, Lynneville.........??? A Blu-ray player hooks up to your tv with a hdmi cable. It will play blu-ray disks and regular dvds and even cds. It will play up to 1080. However, if you don't have a HD tv (or even one with a HDMI jack) there is no reason to get a blu-ray player because it won't look any different on your regular tv. I have found that I can only notice the difference in things that are filmed in HD. I ordered the blu-ray dvd "just because", but I don't think it will look much better than the regular dvd because of the way it is filmed. It is grainy, black and white, and has hardly any close ups. I don't expect the blu-ray to look much better. I would only recommend getting a blu-ray if you have a HD TV and are ready to upgrade or if you just need a new DVD player. Thanks a bunch for that information. I had no intention at all of buying a blu-ray until...........well you know. So now I have your post to help me make the decision. I caught about 20 min of the myword radio show from the UK. Fantastic! Gawd I hope this helps him even a little bit to get his foot in the door in the UK. And finally - a little nagging: VOTE - www.q102.com/pages/interactive8.html

At my last consulting gig I gave a copy of FYE to the woman I was working for. On the day she brought it home she said that she was looking for something in her briefcase and handed it to her husband while she rifled through some papers on the train ride home. He wouldn't hold it! Then the story gets worse. Her children (5 & 7yrs old) looked at the sleeve and kept asking if it was a girl or a boy. If it was a boy, why did he have make-up on? So what did the parents do? They took the sleeve out of the jewel case so the kids wouldn't see it. Sad. I'm guessing the sleeve went into the garbage. I wish I didn't know this. She said her kids were too young to have to do any type of explaining. Every time I passed her by for the next few days I had to bite my tongue. But, you know, Pasta, THAT is the stuff classics are made of. Often not appreciated at the time but conquer the test of time. Like artwork that PostFestumPF posted yesterday. Many artists were scorned when they were expressing themselves and now their art is iconic. Polarizing is good. It outlasts milquetoast anyday. IMO So don't be sadz, pls?? (smilie hug) This comment is mostly OT - but it sort of relates to this and even more to Toemageddon (TM the Daily Show). Today I was watching some "how to" videos on my bank's website about using online bill pay. About half way through the video, it dawned on me that the family portrayed (as excited new users paying their bills online) was an interacial couple and their kids. What hit me was how controvercial that would have been 30 or 40 years ago and today a BANK, generally a very, very conservative type of business, has it in this video for their customers and most of us don't even notice. Social change feels very, very slow; but it is happening! Some day, we will get to the point that same-sex couples are no big deal and MAYBE even little boys who like painting their toenails won't warrant a moments thought

Everyone keeps buying CD's, DVD's, Blue Ray. One to keep, one to play, and many for gifts, etc. Have we even considered that in maybe 10 yrs none of this medium will be able to be played? Vinyl, eight-track, cassettes...

Loaded Smile. It sounded beautiful in the theater! YES!!! I know this song is not popular with some folks, but I absolutely adore Loaded Smile!!! And to hear it in a theater???? Adam is everywhere.. ;D ;D ;D I EFFIN' LOOOOOOOOOOVE THAT SONG:) I'm a synesthete, and while it's not my absolute no 1 fav song on the album, it's, interestingly, the song that invokes the strongest images in my mind; dunno why is that. Anyways, I see it in all sea-type colors in the beginning (1st verse); starts all coral blue, turquoise, it's like floating in those colors but in space, and I feel absolute peace and quietness in it, don't know how to explain it better. Then, in the chorus going into 2nd verse, the colors are still kinda blue-ish but are starting to spillover into some shades of dirty pink/light fuchsia, even some purple in parts. I have this image of bubbles and round shapes, even some white flows of energy making shapes rather similar to that infinity sign Adam has on his wrist, now that I think of it( had that image in my mind from the first time I heard it). The bridge "makes me want you baby" etc, is sharper, more dark purple and with loads of the blue again, yet the wail in the middle has a strong pink feeling to me. Actually that one's interesting, coz I feel the whole bridge in pink, yet the words sound blue/purple to me. The last part is all coral blue to me, and I feel like I'm in the middle of the ocean. The whole song, to me, has a strong Pisces, Neptunian vibe to me. Not really an astrology connoisseur, although I know a thing or two about it, yet it's a strong image that I keep getting. Is there anyone else here with synesthesia, I'd really love to know how others hear it And I've always wondered how Adam hears it, I don't know if he sees colors as well, but they sure are very important to him, given how much effort he puts into the visual presentation.
