Social change feels very, very slow; but it is happening! Some day, we will get to the point that same-sex couples are no big deal and MAYBE even little boys who like painting their toenails won't warrant a moments thought Really? Will it? Do you think so? God, I hope so - I don't know.

Jon Stewart was absolutely brilliant in this commentary. If you haven't checked this out, please consider giving it a view!! Thanks for posting this..talk about putting an issue into perspective! Jon, I think I love you...dah da da da.... 8-) Didn't have time to watch this until now - but it really is good. Just thinking - in a country as big as US is, and all the things going on in it and in the world - and then in comparison, pink toenails of a little boy make news/to tv-shows/interviews...? Oh well.

Sorry don't mean to spam. I ran across this video from the Ten Commandments i had not seen. "Into the Deep". The special effects are cool and the song is catchy. Am I the only one who hasn't seen this? www.youtube.com/all_comments?v=z8dRpu3u1X8Thanks, kittykay, I hadn't seen this or the ET vid. Wow, Adam's voice rocketed above all the others in this scene from the Ten Commandments..that's our boi! ;D Did you see all the emotion in his face when he was singing! WOW!!

I don't have a Blue-Ray player either. Does it play in 1080i? What resolution is the regular DVD if played on a HD tv using a 1080i input? Is it only a 720? or less? (not that I know what that means). Is there a noticable difference ? I'm really pleased with how the GNlive looks on my reg. DVD player. Maybe I should just buy one copy for my stash/treasure chest. Oh, Lynneville.........??? A Blu-ray player hooks up to your tv with a hdmi cable. It will play blu-ray disks and regular dvds and even cds. It will play up to 1080. However, if you don't have a HD tv (or even one with a HDMI jack) there is no reason to get a blu-ray player because it won't look any different on your regular tv. I have found that I can only notice the difference in things that are filmed in HD. I ordered the blu-ray dvd "just because", but I don't think it will look much better than the regular dvd because of the way it is filmed. It is grainy, black and white, and has hardly any close ups. I don't expect the blu-ray to look much better. I would only recommend getting a blu-ray if you have a HD TV and are ready to upgrade or if you just need a new DVD player. Lynneville Thanks for the info. Gelly said a Playstation 3 will play them and son has one of those..I would have to set it up on my HD tv which has 1080 hook-ups/settings. I hadn't thought about the quality of the filming , but your're right....it might not make much difference....The reg. DVD looks pretty darn good to me, but I will probably buy one copy "just because".

This comment is mostly OT - but it sort of relates to this and even more to Toemageddon (TM the Daily Show). Today I was watching some "how to" videos on my bank's website about using online bill pay. About half way through the video, it dawned on me that the family portrayed (as excited new users paying their bills online) was an interacial couple and their kids. What hit me was how controvercial that would have been 30 or 40 years ago and today a BANK, generally a very, very conservative type of business, has it in this video for their customers and most of us don't even notice. Social change feels very, very slow; but it is happening! Some day, we will get to the point that same-sex couples are no big deal and MAYBE even little boys who like painting their toenails won't warrant a moments thought This is OT, but as I'm curious: is the online bill paying new in US? Or is it just spreading now? Personal and job-related interest.

I was looking at the bank site for our business account - it is a family business and I've been slowly pushing our accounting into the 21st century. Tomorrow I plan to teach my mother (our bookeeper) about online bill pay and was watching the stuff on the site just to be sure there wasn't anything different from what I am used to using.
