Just listened to the repeat of Angelina's UK program. Oh, for the love of Adam!
The beat goes on for all of us, doesn't it? While listening, I composed letters to MDs, US Representatives & the Senators from Oregon - - - lambasting, and incredulous that my 83-year-old mother's doctor has decided to eliminate her from his Family Practice because she is a Medicare patient!! This woman, my mother, can't walk, can't care for herself due to a stroke; but is wise and witty and with it and sees exactly what is happening . . . she is 'expendable' - and now, will be cast adrift in favor of a healthy patient! Words escape me regarding this fucked-up medical system and the doctor who took the bait and has failed her in favor of the almighty dollar.
So unlike the spirit of Adam; the juxtaposition of his voice in the background and the letters I was writing - - - well, I'm confused, but not in the Kara kind of way.
And, I do have BRILLIANT GOOD NEWS to bring to Adamtopia! Spent this weekend with a little someone you may remember from a month ago - Penelope Jane!! She has been home for four weeks now, and when I saw her my tears fell over her fat cheeks and chin; and I could not get enough of her crinkly ears and the dimples on her elbows. She is well!! And shows no effects of the trauma in the ICU and the lack of oxygen and the desperate hours. I now possess 'Penelope Smiles' - and, while they may not be 'Loaded Smiles' they fill me to bursting with joy!
So, this afternoon is filled with joy and angst, and my personal roller-coaster ride. Maybe that's one reason why we can stay with Adam. The people I meet here, online, bring the ups and the downs, good and bad, peaks and valleys, chasms and gorges and pinnacles. In our lives and along our journeys, we've been included and we've been ostracized. Our personal roller-coasters have tossed us around a bit. We've learned how to hold on to Adam's. We won't be thrown off this ride; that's for sure.

(She may not have loaded smiles but I bet her diaper gets loaded. :

momtomany - I always come back to Adamtopia on Sunday's (no matter how busy the rest of the week is) and am SO happy I did, or I would have missed your great news. What a joyous day knowing your precious granddaughter is thriving again.
Noangel - one reason I always make the time to come on Sundays is your brilliant editorial and today you outdid yourself. If the apps come for android I'll take the BuyBuy$ so I can immediately purchase the ConcertBuddy & MeetNGreetr for our next Adam concert tour. And may I suggest an additional app in lieu of the contrabands that let us know if we're in the vicinity of another ATOP member?

And important to have good friends on ATop to share it all with. Happy about the little one, and go get 'em on behalf of your mom!

Awww, Momtomany, what an amazing post. I am SO SORRY for what you are going through with you mom. There was an amazing discussion about that on Bill Maher this week. So rage-inducing!!! I wish you luck that you can find a solution. So happy to hear about Penelope Jane!!! Amazing how those first few tenuous weeks and months become all but forgotten when they start thriving on their own. Great to hear. Love this paragraph so much!! So, this afternoon is filled with joy and angst, and my personal roller-coaster ride. Maybe that's one reason why we can stay with Adam. We won't be thrown off this ride; that's for sure. So beautiful and so true!!

Only starting to read the thread, but just had to flail a little about getting that work monkey off my back so I can do my stanning guilt free!!!!!!!

Only starting to read the thread, but just had to flail a little about getting that work monkey off my back so I can do my stanning guilt free!!!!!!! Whoo hooo!!! Almost Spring Break, Baby!! Watching GNL for the 38,927th time again and I'm thinking a lot about the comments by that music dude we posted earlier, who touched on the telling a story with the interpretation and delivery of a song. This is something I've long noticed with Adam (maybe one of the first mind-blowing skills of his that I really tuned into) and I don't know if we've really dissected and analyzed discussed it here. I'm forming some thoughts. Maybe a future daily topic subject, Q3?
