Just heard Cook's new Ryan Tedder pop single -- and if they do anything like that to Adam #2, I will get ill. Adam is in a different genre and is headed in a totally different direction from Cook but still -- RCA could also release a generic pop "ready for HAC radio" song for Adam. (Although I really doubt that RCA is that foolish!)
Message to the Universe and to AFL -- so not be deluded into the safe pop path. It is a cul de sac.

May he use the courage and cahones we know he possesses to wage the war of personal artistry. He has incredible instincts. It has to be hard when they are telling you, "We know how to get you played and make you money. We're the hit makers." He is definitely carving his own path though. Nikka is not a generic pop girl. I am very excited about their collaboration.

DC new song reminded me very much of 30STM Kings & Queens and a thousand other songs I now cant rap my head around now but I will find them.

Quote of the Day!!! from Q3: "Do not be deluded into the safe pop path. It is a cul de sac." ETA: I guess we all agree w/Q3! \o/ Although I lolled at "I will get ill" too. IKR? I'm grateful more than ever that Adam made that decision in late 2009 to go pop as opposed to rock, as so many expected (or hoped) he'd do. If he hadn't he wouldn't have the international fan base and he wouldn't be crafting this next album with collabs such as Nikka and Sia (yes, and Tedder ...), but like Tedder said, "He knows what he wants." His decision was a risk, but I hope his instinct, foresight and inherent understanding of the music industry will bode well and continue for album 2. Pop has been no easy route, but I do think rock would be even more difficult. I don't know the second-tier stations in the LA area, but the bigger ones play classic or alt/indie (however, KROQ has been incorporating metal because they just don't have enough material with the alt/indie format it seems). I can't see any Idol being played on these unless they were to end up fronting and existing band that was already getting played.

AfterElton doesn't agree that the Gaga album cover is camp; says Adam needs a "gay refresher course." LOL. Okay. Reminds me of our ongoing analysis of "camp." www.afterelton.com/meme-04-18-2011

Yes, and IMO with him collaborating with Sia and Nikka I don't think we have to fear seeing him start to get safe & boring. And I really, really hope Adam will write some better lyrics - no offense to DC - but please not those succession of trivialities and stereotypes.
