AfterElton doesn't agree that the Gaga album cover is camp; says Adam needs a "gay refresher course." LOL. Okay. Reminds me of our ongoing analysis of "camp." www.afterelton.com/meme-04-18-2011I think one of the reasons that people will not swallow the camp idea with Gaga is that all of her interviews lately have pointed toward her taking herself too seriously. Adam laughed off the reactions to the FYE cover and declared it camp himself right away and so the media kind of followed his lead. But with Gaga out there saying those protrusions on her body are real and not prothetics it gets harder and harder to see what she is doing as camp. If she never drops the persona it changes the way that it is perceived. Because we can see Adam in many different ways it is easier to see what are the exaggerations but Gaga gives us no reference points because she hides her true self. |

I've been really busy but have managed to read the threads. I agree with you Rihannsupf..."Gaga never drops her persona" and I don't think she's trying to just be 'campy'. I think she takes herself way too seriously and it's all getting 'really old' for me. Love how we get to see the many sides of Adam's fascinating personality.  It makes him even more endearing to me! I just checked out the site and the model certainly does have a nice frontal pose. I don't think my husband would wear those. |

I'm really not good at comparing songs but it seemed like melodically the new song is like a combination of some of his other songs. I haven't listened to the album in a while but as I was listening to the single I just kept trying to think where did I hear that before. All the way through it was like pieces of familiar things jumbled together so it never sounded like something new to me and I kept getting distracted trying to think what this or that piece reminded me of. I hope the whole album doesn't make me do that. |

Yes! I am going for it for 2 more days. Mondays haven't been the best, so I don't want to use Monday as a guide for what might be going on there. If it doesn't make it today, then I will continue one more day. If it doesn't make it Tuesday, I think I will stop. However, on Saturday, we need to do an on-line request for Saturday night On Line. they have played it 2 weeks in a row now. That show is syndicated and goes out to many stations. |
