Thank you.  I'm from Finland and I discovered Adam last Autumn when my fiance showed me his music videos, because he was sure I would like those. He was right and I became more and more impressed the more I discovered and listened. It is rare for me that one artist has so many songs I like and I rarely become a huge fan of someone. I found this place after noticing local news about Sauli and Adam. I became curious and looked for more info and this place was one of the google links. I don't think anyone with a serious drug problem could do all of the promo and 112 (?) wonderful concerts that Adam did last year. Adam is ambitious, has a very strong work ethic and is very mature. I wouldn't joke about marijuana, if I was concerned. Who said he had a serious drug problem? No one! Some of us are just uncomfortable with the notion of cheering for drug use of any kind, given how easy it is for some people to slip from having fun to having problems. It's not to say Adam ever will. But some of us get Mother Hen-ish at times when it comes to Adam, and we just hope he's aware of the pitfalls which had led many a celebrity (and non-celebrity) to rehab. After all, nobody starts out thinking they're going to have a problem! Dependency can sneak up on even the strongest person. JMHO --- making substance use illegal does little good and causes great harm. The US once tried to ban alcohol -- there was prohibition in the whole country for almost 13 years -- in some states for over 35 years, and still in banned in some parts of the US. There was no decline in substance abuse, a dramatic increase in the abuse of illegal drugs and the rise of organized crime syndicates fueled by illegal alcohol manufacturing and importation. Today, Columbia, Mexico, Afghanastan, Thialand, Cambodia and many other countries are loosing a battle with drug lords who supple illicit drugs to the US, UK, France, Canada etc etc the world. California's largest cash crop is pot. It is a mess. And we lock up way too many people for drug offenses -- and destroy their lives. 21% of state prison population is for drug offenses and over 50% of federal prison population is for drug offenses. IMO -- we should legalize and regulate pot, and provide drug treatment to people who need help. Regarding Adam -- I do not worry about him. If he was going to have an issue with drugs, it would have been in 2009 when he first had almost total access to anything he wanted. He will be fine. Finally, in my experience, people who use drugs to cope, compensation and deal with their insecurities and emotional issues, can always find drugs -- legal or not. |
