I'm ninja-ing around Twitter and I found this screencap on the Twitter of an Argentinian Queen fan. I have NO IDEA what Facebook page it is from - the page name is conveniently cut off. However, the date indicates that it was posted yesterday evening. My own translation: " Queen + Adam Lambert will be in South America at the end of the year. Obviously, Buenos Aires (BsAs) Argentina will be one of the dates.
Since Brian May wants closed stadiums (arenas), the tentative place will be Luna Park, and two possible dates." Luna Park info on Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luna_Park,_Buenos_Aires Edit: proboards is not recognizing the link to Wikipedia as a valid URL due to the mid-link comma, so just c+p I don't recall Brian saying anything about closed stadiums/arenas -- and they played an outdoor show in the Q+AL North America 2014 (Columbia. MD). Did I miss this. If they play an arena, Luna Park seems the most likely. Last time Queen played Buenos Aires, Q+PR 2008, they played Estadio Velez Sarsfield -- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jos%C3%A9_Amalfitani_StadiumMaybe I am dreaming but I hope they play Estadio Antonio Vespucio Liberti AKA River Plate Stadium or simply El Monumental. This venue holds 70,000 people or so. I mean, I know nothing - I'm just the messenger. Try as I might, I can't find the original source of that screencap. I would think that Luna Park would be muchhhhhh too small though given how much demand there is for Queen in South America. It's not like they can't do an outdoor stadium with their current setup - they pulled it off in Japan. I suppose everything must be taken with a grain of salt until we get an actual press release posted on QOL. I don't know if it bugs anyone else, but I absolutely cringe when strangers call Adam 'baby', 'sweetheart', 'Addy', 'my love' and all these more intimate terms. Does that bug anyone else? I don't hear it here..it's mostly a twitter thing. OK, done. Needed to vent that. Silly little thing in the scheme of life but I don't like mosquitoes much either.. The use of "Addy" in particular is on my list of top ten Adam fandom pet peeves. Just....no.

Thanks Q3,I'll bin it under brain fart then.... ========== If they go for an 8K arena in SA, this will be one seriously difficult ticket to get, and there will be gazillion people waiting in line for every ticket. I don't think I'll try to compete for tickets with folks that have so far never had a chance to see Adam and their last Queen concert was Q+PR, and there next chance may be never, nah.... I'll be grateful for videos, but that's about it. I would have thought that QAL is considered a significantly stronger ticket in the SA market than QPR, so I am surprised to read that they go for such small arenas. September is end of winter/early spring season in Argentina, so it is not overly hot. Santiago is same latitude and has beautiful California-style weather anyways. And Brazil is the usual tropical stuff, 70s most likely. Should be a nice short tour. I don't think B&R have any interest to jump around timezones. I don't see them doing South Africa together with South America.

Does anyone know/remember audience size for these 2 concerts?
Trespassing Promo - South Africa Concerts

My understanding is mid-September, Buenos Aires is a go. But no one from Queen has confirmed it. Although Brian's non-denial of South America was pretty close to a confirmation they are headed to South America. He did not need to post this non-answer on Twitter. Have we not kinda discussed this twice before..... The band....Queens of the Stone Age is on the line- up, which had been confusing when this was tweeted out months ago. Could be that QAL will be a later addition....Brian May is not saying no.... ....however, for now all I can do us cross fingers that opportunities of interest to QAL lead to exciting new countries/people ....to open eyes and ears to Adam's talents and the amazing collaboration of QAL. I am not mixing up Queen with Queens of the Stone Age, and the Queen fans in Latin America are not mixing these two bands up. QSA was announced as performing at Rock in Rio in mid-December 2014. The Queen rumors started during the first few concerts on the UK Tour in mid-January 2015. The tweet that Brian answered was from a Queen fan. Fans from South America has been tweeting requests to Brian and Adam to come to South America for years. They only new thing is that Brian answered. And he answered a few days after the first rumors surfaced. The South America rumors are from the UK, from people very close to Queen and about Buenos Aires. These are not people who would mix up QAL with QSA. I am not aware of any mention of Rock in Rio except by fans but the timing works. The timing is fueling the speculation from what I can tell.

I do not believe there are boxscores for Adam's concerts in these venues. The concert capacity for The Coca-Cola Dome is around 13,000 to 15,000. 19,000 is the capacity for the full arena with a center stage. Adam had an end stage and the sides blocked off so I would GUESS around 13,000.

Two. One in Vegas in May. And the other in SA in Sept.
Edit: Oh sorry thought you were referring to possible Rock in Rio concert. QAL Shows have no idea haha.

But IF they go there, it would probably be a bigger venue. This rumor has no support from within Queen sources and is coming from a promoter. It may not be legit and may be wishful thinking. ** Right now there are only a few places left in the world to take this tour to and the only one that seems very, very likely is South America. 1. South America -- and this appears to be happening in September. In the past they have played -- Argentina, Chile and Brazil. The Q+PR 2008 Tour ended with Europe, 4 shows in the UK then 5 shows in South America -- Argentina (1), Chile (1) and Brazil (3). 2. South Africa -- I am somewhat skeptical of this rumor. But Brian and Roger returned to South Africa for a charity concert in 2003 (post-Sun City) so it is not out of the question. 3. Parts of Asia -- I think they are done with Asia but they could do real concerts vs. festivals in Japan and other parts of Asia. I have asked people associated with and part of Queen about the Indonesia promoter on multiple occasions and been told they know nothing about it. I think this is a wishful promoter. There is also a promoter in Shanghai China who wants to bring them to China BUT I am not sure how popular/well-know Queen is in China. I have the impression that Adam is as much of a draw as Queen in China and parts of Asia right now. 4. Mexico, Miami -- They should stop here on their way to Argentine, they won't but Queen has a lot of fans in both cities. I put Mexico on this list because of Queen's historic concert there. They were never turned into films and seem to get overlooked today but here is a fan recap of one concert. Finally, I put Miami on the list. It would make a great stop over concert site on the way to South Africa and fans are waiting! This is a fly-in concert destination on many concert tours and would be for Queen.
