So - what kind of event can we imagine where two extremely talented pop singers could do a musical theaterish duet? And what would we want them to sing? I would like NBC to redo The Sound of Music with Lady Gaga as Maria and Adam as Captain Von Trapp. I second that!

I have the Oscars recorded to watch later tonight .... what an incredibly beautiful performance from Lady Gaga - from someone who dislikes musical theatre in any form. The hug from Julie Andrews was so generous and sincere, it brought me to tears. There was a graciousness there, similar to what Adam is experiencing at the moment with Brian and Roger - where talent itself is embraced, competitiveness and threat is long past. Her vulnerability waiting for the applause after the performance struck me .... it was very similar to the way she was waiting for Brian to acknowledge her after singing AOBTD with Adam. She was actually quite nervous during the performance with Queen, despite her bravado. And while that song did her no justice her voice in a live setting surprised me (in a good way). I noticed that too. It was kind of risky for her to do this medley and do it in the original style it was meant to be sung. No changing it up, no belting. She looked genuinely surprised/relieved at the audience's and then Julie Andrew's reactions.

She has done a few interview about the role of musical theater in her life and music. Here is one from 2011 that is interesting.... www.mtv.com/news/1664243/lady-gaga-musical-roots/

Just commenting on a couple of subjects... Lady Gaga - we knew she could sing , but wow! The plaid pants have a certain whimsy and fun that can never be achieved by plain black. Let the plaid break free!!!
