So... just read that Boy George will be mentoring on Idol for '80s night. Don't kill me because I don't mean it in a shady way but seeing Boy George's photo reminds of a thought I'm having recently: Sam Smith looks like Adam and George had a baby. He's not as fabulous as his parents but Sam is the cool offspring who's into the family business. LOL. I really need to go sleep. I see them as three interconnected people -- but more interconnected by the music. When Boy George was in his prime he was very pretty. Sam looks quite different to me....and really never looked pretty. And I don't think either of them look like Adam.... LOL. Oh, I am not saying they look like Adam, especially not that pic of Adam. It's just that for whatever reason, whenever i see some photos of Sam, he reminds me of a combination of Boy George and Adam (in a less pretty or fabulous way, no diss). Even the photo you posted of Sam right now is giving me Boy Lambert mashup vibes, the receding pompadour, jaw/chin line, face shape etc. It may not be rational, but there it is... Just throw on a Fedora, some hanging hair braids/wisps, makeup, guyliner and Bam! I'll stop now. LOL

snow, snow, snow....here too, but should melt again tomorrow. It's not consistently cold anymore, it now yo-yo's up and down. Got to talk about Adam looking like Boy George for a moment. Adam is such a chameleon. He can look like almost anybody and everybody, it seems. Right now, he certainly does not look like Boy George, I give you that, but in the past, I thought there was similarity too. So, here is the Boy George look, imo: But that was only one look during a specific time, and there are many others. Here is his James Dean look (left image only): There were pictures, where Adam looked like a young Omar Sharif or even Clark Gable. (can' find it right now) There were many, many Elvis look alike pics. Liza Minelli, Cher, ....you name it, and Adam can seemingly morph into them. Right now, the present look seems to be quite close to Ricky Martin, at times. Here is a recent RM pic. But whatever look he prefers, he looks absolutely stunning right now.

Funny thing about a quiet night -- it is peaceful in a way. I am happy that a talent contestant sang a song, and every article about it recalls Adam's performance of that song from 6 years ago. Over 100 news mentions of Adam. I am happy that Nile Rodgers was the Idol mentor and there are several prominent news report that he recently worked with Adam. I am happy that with Glee's last show airing tonight and there are several long articles with memorable Glee performances and Adam is in every one. It was a quiet day -- but a good day. Very well said Q3.

Ditto, your remarks re the snow. At least it was not a every 2-3 days repeat of last year. Yes, Adam does resemble the RM pic at times and while on tour, I thought he had the George Michael leather thingy look down.

I have to chime in on a few things. My opinions are probably an anomaly so don't get mad at me. I watched Idol last night. So many of the songs were terribly off key and the judges don't pick up on it, even Harry. When Adam sang Mad World it made my heart ache, it was so haunting and beautiful; everyone watching really felt that. Joey's ok performance wasn't anywhere near in the same class as Adams. I'm pretty disappointed in Lindsay Parker for not seeing and hearing the difference; she really doesn't seem to be quite the Glambert that she use to. I am quite disappointed in IDOL and Nile Rogers (if he had any say in the promo). Adam is one of Idol's most successful Alums, he is also one of their biggest supporters. They should definitely have included Adam in the intro that showed all the artists Nile had performed and produced for. He worked with him on Shady and Lay Me Down. Idol should have recognized that achievement with "one of their own" even if it wasn't a success in the same league and Daft Punk and Sam Smith....I think it shows total disrespect to Adam. I had the same thoughts as you did last night when I was watching the intro on Idol last night. As the names of the stars who worked with Nile were being mentioned, I was frustrated-yet again ,that Adam's name was left out. Why??? Especially since Adam was "discovered " on this very show? You would think that the show would be so proud to make the connection and highlight this artist every chance they could! I too watched Idol and nobody stone me, but I was not happy with the season save being used for the guy with the dreads, who has the James Brown style on lockdown. I've felt his performances were a bit over the top at times and his very unhappy demeanor over, having to sing for the chance to be saved unpleasant. Probably just me, but the performance I found lacking vocally, and felt he was just being saved on his prior performances. I've felt Idol was lacking since Adam performed and felt Adam should have won. Even though Adam has prevailed, due to his talent being off the charts, it still affected how I stopped viewing Idol for a few years.
