Thanks so much Q3, Glitter and PattiHum for the info. Since, I don't stream and really don't want to stream...other than to help Adam...I'm not gonna worry about streaming for the single. I will buy from Amazon and Itunes. Come album time....I might do some streaming if made simple and easy.... in addition to buying at both Amazon, Itunes and at Walmart. I figure I can buy 10 CDs to give away a lot easier and more stress free than doing 15,000 streams on my PC. I think the impact of buying and giving away an album -- particularly if done early in the first week -- could be huge. I think it is most important to get the album to a casual fan or interested non-fan who would not normally buy it. That will spread the music. >> I am naturally verbose -- so I am going to use my gift for gab to help promote TOH. Release day -- I will give away some albums in the US (digital). I plan to give it to the first XX people who tweet me about wanting a copy of the album with this in thier tweet #IWantTOH @adamlambert Then I will tweet them back a confirm and request for a DM with info on where to send it also namechecking Adam. I figure that it will take 4 - 6 tweets with Adam's twitter ID in it to make it happen excluding the DM. Then I will tweet the recipients to ask them what they think of it. I expect a number of retweetable "AWESOME" comments will occur. If done with some attention ---1 album given away could end up being 100 - 200 tweets and retweets when it is all said and done. >> I have a feeling a lot of fans will be giving away copies of TOH -- it seems to be a Glambert thing to do. **** At the end of the day, if the single is really AWESOME (why would Maxwell lie?) and it becomes a hit, the album will sell. I really do have faith in Adam, Max Martin and Shellback that they got this one right.

Thanks...I might try rdio. Do you have to pay to be ad free? Does it count the same as Spotify? I have Sirius in my car which I hardly ever use.. a built-in HardDrive to DL and store digital songs , etc..... but, I much prefer to stick a CD in the slot. I haven't had any ads yet! Not sure if rdio has ads? Yes, it is one of the services BB counts. Where's Glitter? She needs to just put us on her speed dial!
Sorry, I know absolutely nothing about Rdio. It is not a service I have ever used but I imagine it is like most streaming services that allow you to buy a subscription which eliminates that ads.
Ads are how the artists/writers get paid for the use of their music when the listener doesn't pay for a subscription. Nothing in the world is really free after all so either you pay to not deal with the ads or you "suffer" through the ads. It's all about your tolerance level really. I can't stand ads. It's why I DVR everything I watch and either watch it upon completion or start it about 30-45 min into the program so I can FF through commercials. It's also why I use Netflix and not Hulu.

Yes, Rdio has ads, if you don't have a subscription. Lots of little ones.

Joey voice is a gimmick. It's part of her schtick. Her MW was more serious than usual, but it was certainly not in the same class as Adam's MW. It was not hauntingly, breathtakingly beautiful. I think we have to stop getting angry and frustrated when others say anything nice about anything Adam has done earlier...it is ludicrous to think we should table anything he sang on idol....or fcs, sitting on a stool!!?? Perry Como famously sat on a stool so using this framework, Adam had no right to sing on a stool. We hate it when A is/was constantly held to the Freddie standard [and often found lacking] yet we blithely do that to others. If you just say 'in my opinion' or 'I have a hard time enjoying' that is fair....but another version is just schtick....that is patently unfair, IN MY OPINION. And it is disingenuous to claim his version was perfect when the last note was horribly off....I love his version and it is epic...but perfect...not. Joey's version was not for everyone, I am sure...just as Adam's Queen is not for everyone [hard as that seems to understand]....but she was really good and I do not for a minute think it was schtick. There are 3 or 4 especially talented kids on the show this year and Joey is one of them, that are really unique and creative. I think that is what has been missing for a long time on the show and it is really good to see. ymmv ITA, she is one of the the most creative singers on the show this year, and I love seeing what she will do next! Thanks for saying what I was thinking LOL!

As far as Adam's single is concerned -- When it drops, please, someone, just tell me what to do on that day. Thanking you in advance.

As far as Adam's single is concerned -- When it drops, please, someone, just tell me what to do on that day. Thanking you in advance. That's easy -- buy the single. If you feel motivated, buy a copy or two for a friend(s). That will be most important for fans to do.

People of my age (40+) here are still mostly into buying CDs and for me it's strange that maybe we won't have that any longer in a few years. I think there's nothing like holding a CD with a booklet in your hands ... Go back another generation or so, and you would be saying "There's nothing like holding a vinyl record in your hand. The covers were modern works of art. The back of the cover can contain all the song lyrics and info on who plays on each track." Being of the vinyl record era, I never have been satisfied with the packaging of CDs. Still, now that I am converting many of my old CDs to digital format so I can play them on my iPod, I am wondering what the heck I do with the CDs, cases and liners. Seems wrong somehow to just throw out. Archive them old CDs--backup. I burn all the music I buy on CDs for two reasons: I use CDs in the car and I don't trust technology.
