Nick Bond @bondnickbond 16m16 minutes ago Adam Lambert fans are tweeting to tell us that they're licking the new issue of @attitudemag. Not 'liking'. LICKING.
Eww.... Don't do that people. It will make all the pages stick together and ruin the magazine. Plus the ink isn't good for you.

www.billboard.com/articles/news/6517214/adam-lambert-original-high-interview"Adam Lambert without all the theatrics? Lambert says he's mining new territory with his upcoming third album, The Original High, and he's proud to be singing about "some real stuff -- stuff that's not always so easy to talk about, not so PC."
But don't expect a complete absence of black leather and eyeliner. Both were present at the iHeartRadio Awards on Sunday night, where Lambert told Billboard that his first outing on Warner Bros. takes a different turn from 2012's Trespassing, released on RCA Records. "It's still pop music, but it's a bit of a new sound for me stylistically."
Executive produced by hitmakers Max Martin and Shellback, the album "is a bit darker, but it's still upbeat," Lambert said. "I was trying to strip away some of the pageantry from pop that I had already delved into. I like what I've done in the past, but it was time to strip back the theatricality and the camp. There's some reality in there."I always thought Trespassing was supposed to be more "real" and not particularly PC, and maybe "darker" in terms of showing who Adam really was and what he thought/felt. You know.... like the BTIKM video, showing two sides, the light and dark. But maybe it wasn't real and TOH is real. Who knows. Very little chance that BTIKM had much to do with what Adam was feeling or thinking -- he did not write it, it was not written for him. The music video did incorporate Adam's dark-light duality concept but really had little to do with the lyrics. But unless Adam is a vastly different person than he appears to be in public, this is not about Adam.... Cold as ice And more bitter than a December Winter night That's how I treated you And I know that I I sometimes tend to lose my temper And I cross the line Yeah that's the truth
I know it gets hard sometimes But I could never Leave your side No matter what I say
[Chorus:] Cause if I wanted to go I would have gone by now, But I really need you near me to Keep my mind off the edge If I wanted to leave I would have left by now But you're the only one that knows me Better than I know myself
All along I tried to pretend it didn't matter If I was alone But deep down I know If you were gone For even a day I wouldn't know which way to turn Cause I'm lost without you
I know it gets hard sometimes But I could never Leave your side No matter what I say
[Chorus:] Cause if I wanted to go I would have gone by now, But I really need you near me to Keep my mind off the edge If I wanted to leave I would have left by now But you're the only one that knows me Better than I know myself
[Bridge:] I get kind of dark Let it go too far I can be obnoxious at times But try and see my heart Cause I need you now So don't let me down You're the only thing in this world I would die without
[Chorus:] Cause if I wanted to go I would have gone by now, But I really need you near me to Keep my mind off the edge If I wanted to leave I would have left by now But you're the only one that knows me Better than I know myself
Cause if I wanted to go I would have gone by now, But I really need you near me to Keep my mind off the edge If I wanted to leave I would have left by now But you're the only one that knows me Better than I know myselfSimilarly, FYE (single) is nothing like Adam. *** The albums seem to be a continuum to me: FYE - not too much Adam (only a few songs were even written by him), not very real -- Glam Rock focus, lots of variety, no real central creative focus -- Adam described it as a playlist. Trespassing - very Adam, very personal (except for the two tracks RCA stuffed on there) -- Pop fused with funk. The Adam tracks -- all but BTIKM and NCOE -- all seem complimentary to be. This feels like an album to be with a sequence that was intended. TOH - the way Adam has been talking about this album I am not sure what to expect -- but seems like it will not be filled with pop tracks like "Naked Love" and "Cuckoo" and "Kickin' In" that are just fun songs. (Note: I love all three of these tracks, I love a good party-dance song.) The reference to not being PC might mean that he has moved from the gay-themed songs that were on Trespassing (OOL, Trespassing) to more general, universal themes. More like WWFM and what Sam Smith did with SWM. Less PC for a "gay, gay, gay" artist to do.

More like WWFM and what Sam Smith did with SWM. Less PC for a "gay, gay, gay" artist to do. Adam describes all his albums like a playlist. He has said several times that's how he consumes music and that's how he likes to present his music.
I thought FYE was a very cohesive album considering it was put together and finished in about three months. I thought Adam was represented well with songs like Soaked, If I had You, Strut, Sure Fire Winners, Aftermath and Broken Open. The songs that I thought didn't really fit was Loaded Smile and Music Again. Hated those two songs and still hate them.
With Trespassing Adam delved into both the party side of his personality, Shady, Kick In, Pop that Lock, Cuckoo, and then Broken English, Outlaws of Love show his more vulnerable side. I never heard Trespassing (the song) as gay themed per se but rather anyone who ever felt like an outsider. OOL is the one and only "gay themed" song Adam has IMO.
I don't think it's considered PC for a gay artist to move away from gay themes. There was nothing politically incorrect about Sam Smith's album (I know, I own it and listen to it). It's very middle of the road and quite generic overall (and I say that as someone who is a fan). I can't see Adam ever making that far of a shift towards the middle. He's just to eccentric and has too bold of an idea of who he is and how he wants to be presented as an artist. His pre-idol stuff shows his strong artistic personality too IMO.

I wonder what's next. Adam and his team got to keep the momentum going, and even increase it. I wonder what they've got planned and when will it happen...
