Here is what Adam said about James....
Sorry, I can't see how this was a slam on James. And, if anything, because many/most James fans are not Adam fans -- all this statement might do (if anything) is get James more votes. (Get casual viewers to actually vote.)
But having looked at Twitter -- a bit of perspective -- the turtles are still generating more Tweets than this "controversy".

For those who don't mind voting for stuff - a few votes at the Q102 Ultimate Idol thing would be nice Looks like the FOO's have been voting up a storm overnight. It takes a lot of votes to move this at all, but when I went to bed last night Adam had 51.51% - he is now at 50.41% and there is less than a 1% difference between him and Jordan. Its only a couple more days for this round and it would be nice to keep him in it. This doesn't really mean much, but Q102 has been a BIG supporter of Adam and it is sort of nice to let them know that his fans are still paying attention.... This is one of those awful polls where you can vote as much as you want - just refresh the screen and vote again. I'm assuming the FOO's are using bots (which I am doing my own today - have a spare PC at work today <evil grin>) but if we can get 100 people to vote 10 times each, that ballances out a bot running for several hours..... www.q102.com/pages/ultimate-idol/index.html

Have you been to a Maxidrom concert before? Are you going mostly 'cuz of Adam? Are there other acts you're looking forward to? Is it considered a showcase for "popular" music (Bruno Mars, Adam) or more "alternative" bands (Korn, Rammstein)?

I feel sure that Adam's training included included plenty of criticism along with the praise. That is what helps build a healthy sense of worth and confidence. When a young kid has as good skills as Adam probably did, it is especially important to have a private teacher that can keep a good balance between praise and critique. Too much praise with highly talented kids risks creating a monster (in my opinion) who thinks they are beyond error or, the reverse, a child who feels that they cannot possibly live up to the standard of perfection created for them. My opinion. :D I think this was so well said. I agree with what you said. As I've been now watching the season 8, I was also right away thinking how Adam got lots of praises, but also critique. I think he received both very well. I think he is a good example of someone who listens humbly to both and learns. Also based on what I've seen I agree Adam knows when to give critique and how to say it. Your last comment about good coaching is something I personally feel very strongly about. I've been one of those gifted children, but not in music in another field. So I agree with personal experience that too much praise is very damaging. I became one of those that felt too much pressure to live up to the expectations of perfection and grumbled badly. The only thing about the article, that I didn't like was how the reporter phrased some of the things. I think for some that might make Adam sound more critical especially if you feel strongly about Durbin and can't be objective. Jojo, interesting comments. I'm sorry that you were the recipient of unbridled praise. Most people don't realize how damaging it can be. It can make some people quit because that feel they can't live up, so why try. In addition, the praise needs to be specific: "The breath control you did in that first phrase was excellent." Praise should not be all-encompassing for the reasons we have both cited: "You are soooo amazing!!!!!" That is wishy washy and can make a person feel that everything about them (skills, personality, etc.) needs to live up to similar repeated comments.

LambertUK Do You Like Adam Lambert's Devilish New Look? - Jezebel - bit.ly/jyp0FX Do you think he looks a little like Guy Fawkes? Or maybe the Coop devil? Or perhaps Vincent Price? Looking into his eyes, do you suddenly have the urge to sell your soul? Remember: Thou shalt not worship false (American) idols.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASPEN!!!As for Adam's Max Martin speech....I think he did a terrific job but I can certainly see what Bridget is saying. For me, it's the very same issue I have with his concert "banter" - he's a theatre geek - if he has a "script" he's gonna follow it. Ke$ha, despite or because of her distaste of public speaking kinda winged it, and it felt more natural.....but damn - if you want a presenter who can stick to a script - take a leadership role - move things along, and look FINE while doing it....Adam's your man! James Durbin critique. Meh. I thought it was spot on, and given with considerable praise. Been watching Idol since Season 1....former contestants have always been asked for their OPINIONS. ....again, so exited that we'll have an Atopian at the Moscow concert!! Only advice I can give is to wear comfortable shoes! Haha! (preferably kick-ass, rockin' comfortable shoes ) ..and I have to ask because your moniker intrigues me - Do you love a Hawaiian, or Hawaii, or is it just a random sentiment, ilovehawaian ??

I thought I read "I'm so over James, etc." That sure is not a critique of his singing or helpful. It is a total dismissal of the person as a singer. I have read so much on this topic, I can't remember what Adam actually said now. Can we get over this? To say that Adam has no power certainly negates the $325,000 collected for charity:water. If it were not for Adam, I would not have given my money three or four times. I admire Adam so much I would do anything to make him look good. I was so proud of everyone who gave so much, and I was so happy for him that he made that second goal and more. I think Adam has a lot of power.
