Slightly off topic (and sad news for Sam Smith and his fans), but this is why vocalists work hard to sing with good technique. Not infallible, but I would not expect this type of thing to happen to Adam because he has trained his voice and body (yum) so well for so many years... Sam Smith has always sounded like he strains his voice a great deal--especially on higher notes. As a singer, it's actually hard for me to listen to him sing sometimes (because of the way he sings and the way it hits my eardrums as a trained vocalist). He also has OCD,which can be debilitating.. coupled with vocal problems and being so young with so much pressure to succeed endlessly.Oy.not easy getting so famous so quickly. I feel bad for him ,he is very talented..I think he needs more time to adjust to all the fame,time to take care of his voice.. Thinking of Amy and Adele and fame.. how sometimes being so popular really is too much .. It also seems to me that their backers are striking while the iron is hot but not thinking of how the constant touring etc. affects their singers.. Happy that Adam's growth and success seems more long term...maybe less is more Tough business any way you look at it.. my morning reflections |
