NGL, I'm having difficulty with the negativity over the MV. I sometimes think that Adam's fans have expectations for him that are unreachable. I have come to the conclusion that Adam will never please all his fans with any choice he makes so he should just do whatever the hell he likes. I think it would be impossible to expect fans to all have the same expectations. So you are right. He also likes to incite discussion and controversy, yes? Some people wanted a story line; some wanted it left open without a specific interpretation. I think it's very normal and natural to have a variety of opinions.

I think my biggest problem with the video is that it takes itself sooooo seriously. Yeah, I get his heart is a ghost town, but it lacks even a tiny bit of the delicious wit that made FYE and BTIKM videos so great. It's IIHY as done by Luther the Anger Translator. And don't even get me started on Hype Williams putting his name right in the middle of it in that horrible font.
I hope that this song gives Adam the huge hit he so richly deserves, but I feel kind of sad because I've been waiting for such a long time for this to happen and it's hard to enjoy because I don't really like the song. The whistle drives me mad, and I know that is my own personal thing and has nothing to do with Adam (I just can't bear whistling). I think I will slink away for a few months and wait for the release of The Original High, keeping fingers crossed that there are other songs to come that will make me as happy as Shady did.

You know that we greedy glamberts are always going to be disappointed in something that doesn't have smell-a-vision, lick-activated screens and Adam laid out in a thong holding his...microphone! Love the visuals you evoked LOL!!!

I thought I would see a real ghost town. I thought I would see that raven and that bridge and the broken Hollywood sign. Isn't that what this song was supposed to mean? Dreams of dying; just like Bodie or Old Hollywood. But that was too easy! Too conventional. Too understandable and predictable. Feel like I entered the art gallery and walked into the unexpected wing; and while I love paintings of landscapes and flowers and distant horizons - (which I somehow understand), instead I'm brought into the room filled with abstracts, mood, gray color, angles. Art I don't understand. Yet, I stay and wander through it again. It's intriguing. I get the decay . . . the beauty, the emptiness of beauty in the discarded. I'm waiting for the story - the narrative of this Ghost Town. Then it hits me. There is no narrative when your heart is a ghost town. Finally! Someone has seized on the beauty of Adam Lambert. Someone has noticed his eyes; his laser eyes; his hooded brows; his facial bone structure; his posture and his beautiful, physical form. I have nothing but praise for the naturalness of the lighting on Adam as the video begins. It so compliments his stunning, unadorned, voice. There are moments in this video that take my breath away. When he bends backwards; superimposed on the dancer who does the same; when he snaps his fingers; when he pulls the collar up and transforms into someone else, in a second - right there! - before us . . . Yes, someone seized Adam and found his eyes and his art. I'm still not sure of how to interpret it or how to love it. I certainly didn't expect it; didn't see the beauty of the dancers, or expect them in a 'Ghost Town' of the soul. Are these Adam dreams? They certainly aren't mine . . . but that's the bliss and the magic of music, art, creation. Yet, they beckon my curiosity and I watch again, and again. It's beautiful. He is beautiful. And the music is hypnotic; especially as paired with smoke and bodies; exquisite bodies in motion. Most exquisite of all is Adam. Wow. My heart is a ghost town. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THE VIDEO! The black and white video is so sophisticated and artistic (no cheap elements). And Adam's hypnotic, magic eyes </img>

I think I will listen to Delta Radio more often now because it seems that RSH and N-Joy haven't added/played GT so far!

You are me. C'mon over here to the "it ain't that deep" bench and we'll wait for TOH. I'm really looking forward to anything Nile or Brian had their hands on!

I've probably said it at least a dozen times - I love this place! So interesting to read the impressions of the video, from one end of the spectrum to the other. I just have to mention the posts of two: Q3 could have stayed in her cozy home in front of her TV or computer tonight, but instead the market researcher dragged herself out to a club so she could conduct research that I doubt anyone else has done today. Her report: I got the music video played at a big club here on an otherwise boring Tuesday night. I wanted to see it big.
I think I was the only Adam fan in attendence. Median age looks to be <30 and people loved it, and my friends think Adam is "gorgeous". They are replaying it for the 4th time. Everyone is impressed -- particularly with the song, the beat, Adam and the dancers.
They want the remix -- NOW.
>> While I am not sure there is anything new here -- in the song or the video -- Adam is new to many people. It all seems familiar but new, enticing but safe. Probably perfect for the US.
>> Ohio (where I am) is a bell weather for the US. It is the center for marketing research because it is so "normal". And my little experiment indicates that this is a hit....... Just for fair disclosure -- I have been trying to get something Adam played at my friends' club for a couple of years. This is just the first time I succeeded. 1. It was a low risk Tuesday night. (A quiet night for them.) 2. One of the club owners actually listened to the song and liked it. (I tried to get him to play LMD and "Pop That Lock" Remixes in the past but failed.) 3. It was a Hype Williams video. It was not so much market research as I wanted to share my excitement about this song with some of my friends. Glad I did it. Mr. Q3 does not like "Ghost Town" so much and I would not have had so much fun with it at home. He is revising his opinion a bit. But he is "older" than me and maybe not cool enough. Just kidding!!

Ich weiß nicht ob nur mal so war hab die ersten 15 Sekunden nämlich verpasst, aber Delta hat ja auch ne wishlist und wenn sie den Song schon gespielt haben, können wir ihn schließlich auch öfters mal verlangen It seems that they played it in their show where they introduce new music yesterday! You can vote for "Ghost Town" now, so that they will (hopefully!) add it to their regular playlist! Here is the link, I also posted it in today's thread on page 13! www.deltaradio.de/3121550/Sendungen/3120680/frischetheke.html(I also sent them a mail and requested the song half an hour ago but it seems that I was too late for their request show today!)
