I feel I need to clarify some things: <snip>I have been spoiled by Adam in the past to deliver music videos which, even when they don't tell a story directly, at least have a clever concept.....BTIKM: Deeper idea - duality of the same person, dark and light sides co-dependent sharing oxygen in two rooms. Dark saves Light and they unite. Party of two -> party of one. THAT was creative and totally unexpected. I LOVE the song itself. I feel it will be a big success, and my personal feelings are unimportant in this case, but I had to write this wall of text to make me feel better, as I have no black and white party to go to... {licks lolly} Yup - I'll admit I was completely anticipating something along those lines too. Instead, we got a 100% mood vid. Which, as I said before isn't bad (and yeah it will look great on club screens). I was just expecting something a lot more high-concept, particularly considering the lyrics. <grins> We'll survive, tho'. {hugs kryptoman} ETA: {hugs soonish too}

I feel I need to clarify some things: Thank you for posting this. I think I understand a bit more. No there is no literal narrative in the song or video. But there are layers in both. The first time I heard the song I was not too impressed by it. But somehow I needed to hear it again and again to try and sort it out in my head. Second play I liked it. By the third I started to hear and sort out the layers. The video is the same. There are literally layers -- and you can see them. Here it is at 30% speed....which allow a bit of unraveling. youtu.be/-0v8y_7GutsCAUTION TURN OFF THE SOUND OR IT IS CREEPY!! ETA DancyGeorgia this video is for you. Does this video count?

I checked my two Top 40 radio stations to see if Ghost town was on their mediabase lists. It's on the Fayetteville station WQSM which has a more extensive playlist but not on the local Raleigh Station WDCG. However 'What do want from me' is on their 'old favorites' list to request and I swear it has never been there before!

Fans are not a monolithic reality and I like to read the various viewpoints, even those that are not in the flailing category. I hope that those who have expressed less than enthusiastic opinions about the music video will not be made to feel that they are bad fans... There are portions of the music video that I LOVE, but the overall film leaves me... unsatisfied, artistically and technically speaking. Perhaps my expectations were too high. Or perhaps my own professional background (I have been in film post-production for longer than Adam has been on this Earth) is preventing me from seeing the video with the right eyes... One thing is for sure: I am not the target audience (age-wise and otherwise) that this video is trying to reach, and so my opinion really does not matter in the end. That being said, I have watched the video over 20 times so far and will continue to play it as often as I can, as my tiny contribution to this beautiful new era in Adam's career... Oh, and I will also venture to share the link of the video with some of my friends (most of whom are in the arts). Perhaps they will tell me that I am too old and too nerdy to appreciate the hype in Hype Williams! P.S.: A recent picture of myself... LOL I LOVE your recent picture!

That would be me watching the radio adds unfold. Thanks for a great laugh. it is a great day. So many adds, the music video is out and Adam is brilliant. His fans are amazing.

Hey everyone! Epic day...I love the video. It totally looks different on a big screen as opposed to watching it 2 feet from my face. Fingers crossed it is a massive hit. Have to admit I could have done without the writhing girl...loved the up against the wall finger snapping part. BTW isn't that Cassidy?
