I am so ecstatic at everything that is happening for Adam right now. There was so much buzz for him coming off of American Idol, he seemed destined to succeed right away. Then, like everyone else, I remember the tumultuousness of the "AMA" era, and the futility of the "BTIKM/NCOE" era. After that came the hype over Adam possibly becoming an AI judge, then finally the Queen tour. This now feels like Adam has come "home."
I am so proud of Adam for having come through all the storms and controversies, for working hard and not giving up. For persevering when times got tough. For believing in himself and having courage to want to do things his way. I love his new music, and I love the video. The fans don't have to feel like it is all on them; the music is so good that it will appeal to many. It is contemporary and cutting edge, just where Adam belongs. What a blessing to have the support of a great label who believes in him and his international stardom! I believe he is poised to finally gain the type of acclaim and accolades that many of us thought would come to him much earlier. Everything has come together for him and the timing is right.
It is wonderful to be able to come here to flail with everyone and read the many astute comments and divergent opinions. I love it. I hope there will be a tour and I will finally be able to meet many Adamtopia fans.
Life seems so "right" at this moment.

Does anyone remember if WWFM ever got 53 adds in one week? I do not even need to look this up. NO! No Adam video even had a real impact like this. And Adam will now be performing at even radio event coast to coast. You got a list of potential radio events (I assume you mean radio concerts) happening this summer that might just be possibilities for Adam? And maybe fairs too?

Fans are not a monolithic reality and I like to read the various viewpoints, even those that are not in the flailing category. I hope that those who have expressed less than enthusiastic opinions about the music video will not be made to feel that they are bad fans... There are portions of the music video that I LOVE, but the overall film leaves me... unsatisfied, artistically and technically speaking. Perhaps my expectations were too high. Or perhaps my own professional background (I have been in film post-production for longer than Adam has been on this Earth) is preventing me from seeing the video with the right eyes... One thing is for sure: I am not the target audience (age-wise and otherwise) that this video is trying to reach, and so my opinion really does not matter in the end. That being said, I have watched the video over 20 times so far and will continue to play it as often as I can, as my tiny contribution to this beautiful new era in Adam's career... Oh, and I will also venture to share the link of the video with some of my friends (most of whom are in the arts). Perhaps they will tell me that I am too old and too nerdy to appreciate the hype in Hype Williams! P.S.: A recent picture of myself...

NGL, I'm having difficulty with the negativity over the MV. I sometimes think that Adam's fans have expectations for him that are unreachable. I have come to the conclusion that Adam will never please all his fans with any choice he makes so he should just do whatever the hell he likes. Aw tina...... Don't think of it as negativity. Easier to realize that there's just a subgroup of people who FLOVE Adam coming to grips with a mental mismatch between their expectations (based on both prior Adam vids / personal preferences) and delivered product. There isn't a singe person here who isn't totally ECSTATICtoday about the radio adds and that so many people across the U.S. are in rapture about the video. <grins> And even tho' for a few of us the video doesn't match our dreams, we'll still click away to keep the viewing numbers up! See. POSITIVES!

I absolutely love what Adam is doing with this song and this video. I love the alchemy of it. He has managed to mix genres, melody, dance, and a club vibe. He has even managed to mix in a hip hop vibe by associating this with Hype Williams, but not having the obligatory rap mixed in. It is a risk, but, that's Adam. If it all works, it will be seen as nothing but ...genius. Adam Lambert is quite a freaking roller coaster. Hold on to your butts!!!!

why is GT video still unlisted? Possibly part of the exclusive deal with ET. This way you get the video by going through the link on their site or the specific tweets about it. The problem with the video on the ET web site is that it would only show up as a tiny 1"x1.5" video on my smartphone - looked more like a strobe light than a MV. Once I found the tweeted YT link, I could watch it full size on my smartphone. Was so happy to get home and watch it on a good 24" screen where it looks better and I can see Adam's face even more close up!

I've probably said it at least a dozen times - I love this place! So interesting to read the impressions of the video, from one end of the spectrum to the other. I just have to mention the posts of two: Q3 could have stayed in her cozy home in front of her TV or computer tonight, but instead the market researcher dragged herself out to a club so she could conduct research that I doubt anyone else has done today. Her report: I got the music video played at a big club here on an otherwise boring Tuesday night. I wanted to see it big.
I think I was the only Adam fan in attendence. Median age looks to be <30 and people loved it, and my friends think Adam is "gorgeous". They are replaying it for the 4th time. Everyone is impressed -- particularly with the song, the beat, Adam and the dancers.
They want the remix -- NOW.
>> While I am not sure there is anything new here -- in the song or the video -- Adam is new to many people. It all seems familiar but new, enticing but safe. Probably perfect for the US.
>> Ohio (where I am) is a bell weather for the US. It is the center for marketing research because it is so "normal". And my little experiment indicates that this is a hit.And momtomany's post, to me, is a wonderful lesson in art appreciation: I thought I would see a real ghost town. I thought I would see that raven and that bridge and the broken Hollywood sign. Isn't that what this song was supposed to mean? Dreams of dying; just like Bodie or Old Hollywood.
But that was too easy! Too conventional. Too understandable and predictable.
Feel like I entered the art gallery and walked into the unexpected wing; and while I love paintings of landscapes and flowers and distant horizons - (which I somehow understand), instead I'm brought into the room filled with abstracts, mood, gray color, angles. Art I don't understand. Yet, I stay and wander through it again. It's intriguing. I get the decay . . . the beauty, the emptiness of beauty in the discarded. I'm waiting for the story - the narrative of this Ghost Town. Then it hits me. There is no narrative when your heart is a ghost town.
Finally! Someone has seized on the beauty of Adam Lambert. Someone has noticed his eyes; his laser eyes; his hooded brows; his facial bone structure; his posture and his beautiful, physical form. I have nothing but praise for the naturalness of the lighting on Adam as the video begins. It so compliments his stunning, unadorned, voice.
There are moments in this video that take my breath away. When he bends backwards; superimposed on the dancer who does the same; when he snaps his fingers; when he pulls the collar up and transforms into someone else, in a second - right there! - before us . . .Yes, someone seized Adam and found his eyes and his art. I'm still not sure of how to interpret it or how to love it. I certainly didn't expect it; didn't see the beauty of the dancers, or expect them in a 'Ghost Town' of the soul. Are these Adam dreams? They certainly aren't mine . . . but that's the bliss and the magic of music, art, creation. Yet, they beckon my curiosity and I watch again, and again. It's beautiful. He is beautiful. And the music is hypnotic; especially as paired with smoke and bodies; exquisite bodies in motion. Most exquisite of all is Adam.
Wow. My heart is a ghost town.
From my personal perspective, I don't love everything Adam does, but it is just a joy to me to see someone so creative in so many ways expressing himself the way he does. I am loving the ADAM SHOW, and will for as long as I live. And this place makes it even more fun.
