I can't believe I'm going to take apart a Popcrush video, but so many things in that Things Even Glamberts Don't Know were truly cringeworthy. I prepared myself for the expected incorrect info and monotonal, colorless intonation, but that "script" and voiceover is one reason young people today have an unfair reputation of being vacuous and illiterate. It's one thing to READ typos and grammatical errors in written text and just figure, well, that was careless, as usual, with the need to rush through to deliver immediate info, but to hear them READ in audio, lol. Can typos be read aloud? I think they were in that! I work with lots of young people and by far find that younger generation(s) are intelligent and engaged, but that was so painful!

On more interesting topics, I totally agree how Adam's lower end of his vocal range has grown so much richer. He has talked recently about how the adrenaline had gotten the better of him in earlier performances--and I don't think he's just making excuses for the unfortunate AMA perf (as Eber said point-blank, it was the worst he had ever heard his son sing). I think he remembers not being as confident in his lower range. (Where did I just read that singing is not about hearing yourself but feeling? I think it was Melinda Doolittle, a great AI contestent and singer, in an Idol recap. The John Keats line from Ode to a Nightengale "full-throated ease" comes to mind.)

And watching that AI tour perf of Adam singing WLL took me back! I think the first performance I saw of him on that tour, in Memphis, was the most amped up audience I'd ever been among, including Rolling Stones. It was deafening!
