Just want to add from the late hour side-lines to all the worry-berts and downers who need a little encouragement, due to a case of post tsp stress disorder or something. If this is your face, please read below, because there is nothing to worry about.
This roll-out so far is clock work precision, if I have ever seen one.
As others have said, it's not so much that there is a perfectly mapped mega plan, it's just that every little wheel is finally doing what it is supposed to be doing, humming along to the tune of a whistle and a house beat.
It's a beautiful thing to watch.
Please stop beating yourself up over one number that you find, that you could possibly see and interpret in a dark light.
Really, it is time to just sit back and enjoy the ride.
Stream, buy, tweet, to your hearts content and do what 6 years on this beat have taught you. Keep going, for sure, no slackers, lol. But make sure you do also what you enjoy doing. If you omit something, don't sweat it, somebody else will be there to cover it, and all indication is that we have many new folks joining the effort without any strategic planning or hustling, they just come like the butterflies to the nectar, they take a sip and leave their mark behind on Spotify, on Shazam, on Youtube, and everywhere around.
It's a beautiful thing to watch from the sidelines and it is destined to continue well into the summer. So have some fun and stop worrying. Enjoy every chapter, because this is the part that is indeed planned out. That this will be a story with many chapters, of which Ghost Town is only one. And GT is the first one, the story opener, that raises all kinds of questions, but does not answer them. This is not just about a chart position, this is about creating curiosity, and the song is doing it, on a large and world-wide scale.
Questions like:
Where do the ghosts of Hollywood go?
Can you really dance away an empty heart?
The house, the heart, the whistle, the beat, the guitar, the synths, the voice ...none of them give away their secrets, so which of these journeys will the album take us on? My bet is, each one of them.
What kind of artist is Adam on this album? A story-teller, a shaman, a starlight?
What message does he have to tell us about this original high?
If we are to expect the unexpected - how will this unfold further?
What else does he have in store?
This is the kind of stuff that this is about? To quote Paula: 'and this is exciting and YOU are exciting '
It's art in pop music form - taking a willing audience on a musical journey.
So let's enjoy!
