I don't know if I'm just Ghost Town sensitized, but I seem to hear more whistling these days

American Idol: How Fox Failed Its Golden Goose — and Why Now Is the Perfect Time to Pull the PlugBy Michael Slezak / May 12 2015, 12:37 PM PDTExcerpt:Think back to the glory days of Season 8 — when Kris Allen, Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta and their cohorts garnered the lion’s share of water-cooler chatter, capturing our hearts just as much as our ears. To paraphrase an old Phil Spector tune, “to know know know them, was to love love love them.” I found the link: tvline.com/2015/05/12/american-idol-cancelled-season-15-reasons/

Just read on AO that Adam's M&G in Chicago has been cancelled. Apparently, he'll still do the radio interview, just not the M&G. The AO post says it was his management's decision. Wonder if it has to do with that "repeat offender" thing? Too bad. I bet it is due to Adam's schedule. It seems to be packed next week. If the issue was "demographic" or "repeat offenders" they would just instruct the radio station to screen the participants. Many artists management provide very specific specs for radio station M&Gs. ETA: There was never a M&G scheduled in Chicago. Adam's management agreed to do an interview there. So nothing was scheduled to be cancelled.

Q3, People can believe me or not based on how things have and will pan out. I'm sure they will do the same with you. LOL. I'm just doing this to try to help Adam; otherwise I wouldn't bother with the grief that goes along with it on Twitter, etc. What I posted about TV is pretty logical. Appearances on certain shows won't be "wasted" this close to the album date when another appearance on the same show wouldn't happen at that time. Add to that, many other shows either have ended for the season or are very near it. And judging by Adam's increasing radio interview/appearance schedule, it looks like he's going to be booked at least to the end of this month if not into early June doing that. It's possible there's a one-off TV appearance like Ellen before the week the album drops, but that's the most I could envision. While I understand and appreciate the logic of not doing the TV circuit this far in advance of the album I come short trying to explain to myself the reason behind not appearing on AI. Any thoughts?

Agree with you Q3... I'm in Chicago and have been watching/listening for any news of more than an interview all week (there hasn't been any...nothing on the website, on air or anywhere else) I'm on their email list and they email me all the time with "enter this, enter that" but nothing at all about any M&G's for Friday. Seems odd if they were scheduled... It doesn't seem like anything was "cancelled" rather that it was just an interview all along. I'm seeing lots of speculation/bickering on Twitter over this Tweet from one of the KISS DJ's who was nice enough to confirm that there are no M&G's scheduled for Friday. Some are saying this proves that M&G's were cancelled because of the "old" and/or "repeat" fans...I just don't see this in this tweet...and I've got my contacts in. (Angi also confirmed in her next tweet that she's a Glambert - yeah!) Angi Taylor @angitaylorkiss · 9h 9 hours ago @chicagocollen @jaksox Love you guys! I'm a #Glambert too! ???? We don't get a say in that. Sorry

While I understand and appreciate the logic of not doing the TV circuit this far in advance of the album I come short trying to explain to myself the reason behind not appearing on AI. Any thoughts? I'll take a stab at that.... I can think of a few reasons why they would not want Adam on TV yet -- and that included American Idol. But setting aside a long post, the short explanation is that what they are doing is what is usually done. > One hi-profile performance of the single when it is released -- that was The Ellen Show. > Lots of focus on radio. Lots of radio promo. -- underway. We have 2 more weeks of promo. Goal: get the lead single high on the Top 40 airplay chart when the album is released. > TV performances in a few key locations scheduled for album release week. *** If you want to see an example of what a poorly timed TV appearance will do, look at Nate Ruess. His single was #29 on the Top 40 airplay chart. His single was in the 50's on iTunes. He was on The Voice on Monday and then on The Tonight Show on Tuesday. Net results was his single moved up on iTunes to #33. Now, that single is at #37 and dropping slowing. And it is not likely to help him sell a lot of albums on Just 16th. (That is a good thing because he is releasing the same day as Adam is.)

I don't want to be a downer, but I keep checking the position of TOH on Amazon expecting it to be rising in the top 100 and instead of rising it keeps sinking lower. I don't get it.

Why would you expect it to be rising? It's not out yet, the only single hasn't broken into the top 40 in POP yet and is only in the top 30s in HAC. What would be driving an increase in sales? So it's not being a downer it's just that your timing is..... uh.... premature
