No, GT is acknowledged as existing but tagged as unavailable on my Spotify play list. Tove's song is a good example of UK jumping on board months after a song's release. Talking Body was released here in February. January!! If Tove's song hits in the UK, then Adam releasing the duet with her might be (assuming it is single material) a very smart move. Introducing a newbie through a collab. with an recognized star has worked for a lot of folks. Think Bruno Mars, S.Smith, Charlie Puth and many others, their initial introductions were on someone elses tracks.

Adam's #Flobbing tweet was not random. It was in response (but not a direct reply) to someone he just started following -- yesterday I think. Cody Scott Lancaster @cody_lancaster · 13h 13 hours ago .@adamlambert The world wants to know... What are your thoughts on #Flobbing? ADAM LAMBERT @adamlambert · 13h 13 hours ag Did u see that girl Flobbing her drink over there ? #flobbing Flobbing = Cody is John Chandler's boyfriend. John is @chandlerman an old friend of Adam's, along with Charl Brown...all the old theater crowd. This makes me happy. I worked in theater a long time and the close bonds you make last forever. It's wonderful he has stayed in touch with so many old friends. Thanks Q3 for the explanation. I have a good feeling about GTs success too.

TBH, if it took Tove's song this long to get to the UK, don't think she is big enough to make a difference.

I maybe mistaken, but I seem to recall that at some point SStone indicated that they were not going to focus on Radio 1 with this initial release.
Yes, BBC1 recently lost a number of upper level executives - I don't remember where they went seems like it was to an online streamer though?? - . The Radio 1 station is extremely age targeted as well as UK artist focused. Add to that the Grimmers factor. Nick seems to be the tastemaker for Radio 1 and unless he has had a recent change of heart is definitely NOT an Adam fan.

So entering the UK market with an unproven (in the UK) Pop star is tricky. QAL gave him great notoriety, in the wrong age bracket for radio. As our UK members have said (thanks for answering) they can't even stream spotify on GT yet so what "data" is going to tell UK Radio that GT needs to be played? Nothing. I've never understood the play it on radio before you can buy it strangeness in the UK anyway so making it like the rest of the world makes more sense to me. We know Glamberts want to buy it. If UK radio charts are based on sales and you can't sell anything yet then why would they play it in the first place?
So to make it on UK radio we need a perfect storm ie High placement on US charts High marks in streaming charts (nothing to do with UK charts but possibly with airplay) High marks in other social media like Shazam Proof of sales Charts and play in other parts of Europe
This all takes time and I think getting the sales availability before the radio play makes more sense and I'm glad they are going to "buck" tradition.
Now on another note, I still don't understand why Radio 1, owned by the government and without the need to sell adds, is targeting the young demographic. Maybe we need a lesson on how Radio 1 makes money. If they don't why don't they have competition (or why isn't the competition stronger?)

If they don't why don't they have competition (or why isn't the competition stronger?) they dont make money ,they are funded by the uk license , to use a tv in the u,k you must pay a license fee to the bbc ,even if you do not watch bbc , the license fee covers all aspects of the bbc ,including radio ,and bbc radio has the highest amount of listeners ,, because there are no adverts , ,radio 1 targets the younger ones and radio 2 the oldies , there is also here comercial radio ,but they cant compete , would you rather listen to a station thats bogged down with adverts ,or one without?

Apparently it means something different in British English vs. American English vs. US slang. New word to me.
