ahh gid auld newcastle ,,went tae school there ,, they diddna teach me very much uk radio ,, i remember (cos i wis involved ) a huge fan push tae get BTIKM intae the charts ,as apparently bbc radio would add songs that achieved a top 20 place ,we got BTIKM to 17 ,they did not add in my head i have this info ,and as there is a lot of rubbish in ma heed ,this info could be rubbish , bbc radio plays a minimum of 60% british artists , i think the 40% others have to be hits in the us before they are played here i did go looking for where i read this ,cant find it , they also scorn older artists eg robbie williams /maddona ,, as being irrelevant to their listeners (radio 1) adam will struggle for radio 1 ,, he is american ,, came from idol ,(there is also the case that our airwaves are poluted by our own reality stars) and he is over 30 if GT is to be a hit here he needs radio 1 also please remember bbc radio is state owned ,and funded , is not advertising driven ,,no adverts ,non commercial , BTIKM did not even make Top 50, on our Top 40 stations. It made 17 on HAC, not the same thing or prestige!

I will never understand why getting Adam on radio, even after he has everything in place and a label who supports him, is so difficult. GT is a great song, so much better than a lot of the crap on radio now. His vocals are flawless. He's a great entertainer. He's funny, articulate and great to look at.. Maybe being a pop star is just too small a box for him. my very humble opinion ,,an it will be wrong hes 33 ,not 23 ,, no idea how that works out in the usa ,, but in the uk ,, for radio 1 , and also the singles in the past ,were not radio singles Thanks Lilly, I thought that too. All the more reason why I hope he will branch out to other venues.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by 'serviced to radio' in this context but, as far as I know, it was made available for radio play in the UK some time ago as per Shosh's early tweets to UK fans. Certainly I know of a handful of local radio stations which have been playing it, most notably one in Newcastle which had it as their "song of the week" recently - I'm their star listener . I would think it is comparable to the impact dates that we have in the US. A station can play or even add songs before the "impact" date but the date sets a target that the label wants radio to shoot for. Admittedly I don't know if the UK uses similar terminology but they could have in fact made the track available but not set an impact or target date yet. Even in the US a lot of times as soon as radio knows what is planned as a single some stations may go ahead and play it even before any impact date is set. I am much happier knowing they are adjusting plans as they go rather than have them follow an initial plan even when it seems not to be coming together. Shoshanna's company seems to have a very good relationship with Capital as a lot of their clients have had roll outs heavily involving Capital so it could be that their feedback showed it would be best to hold off until Adam could actually get over there for promo. We will never know what led up to the change but a change in strategy is not always about negativity but sometimes is due to maximizing potential. If they are confident that Capital is on board whenever they are ready to go then it makes sense to make that work in their favor and possibly it was better to wait. ETA: Also isn't there a huge shake up going on with Radio 1 right now? I thought I read the head programming guy left and I know that Zane Lowe left BBC and a whole bunch of people followed him. Maybe they decided they wanted to wait until the dust settles a little. Some or all of this could well be true and I agree that the UK schedule changes might be a voluntary optimisation exercise - as you said earlier, maybe something around Adam's availability. But we're all speculating and my feeling is that there's been a bit of a hiccup around radio in the UK which has forced a change in the timeline - we've always said that there will inevitably be ups and downs for Era 3 . Whether, at the end of the day, the current events will make a difference to outcomes in the UK, who the hell knows? I'm still hopeful though and will keep plugging away with the bits and pieces that I can do to support and promote TOH, GT and any other singles

Tove Lo just has a single impacting on BBC top 40 and two idols are in the current chart too. www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chart/singlesQuestion for our UK and other folks who can't buy GhostTown until album release. Can you listen to it on Spotify? or is that blocked for countries where the song hasn't been available for sale? No, GT is acknowledged as existing but tagged as unavailable on my Spotify play list.

Tove's song is a good example of UK jumping on board months after a song's release. Talking Body was released here in February. January!!

Songs can chart quite high for a short period due to fan buying but, if they've had no radio play in the preceding few weeks, will very rapidly tank.

GT is a great song, so much better than a lot of the crap on radio now. His vocals are flawless. He's a great entertainer. He's funny, articulate and great to look at.. Maybe being a pop star is just too small a box for him. Adam is doing really well on radio. "Ghost Town" is #41 on Top 40, #30 on HAC. This is great. It will do better -- it is still headed up. But this take a lot of hard work and money. We can see all the work that Adam is doing, but the WBR promo reps have been working very, very hard. > Very few people get to be pop star but that is what Adam wants. And I think he is going to get there this time. Why is it so hard? There are literally thousands of new releases every week -- and a "hits" radio station plays from 30 to 50 songs a week -- an average "hit" song lasts 15-20 weeks. So that means that of the over 100,000 new releases by real labels only about 120- 200 songs get meaningful pop radio airplay. The odds are enormous. It is the music equivalent of being the star in a blockbuster film. Here is an illustration using the most important April releases and where they are on the CHR/Top 40 charts: 4/7 Mainstream #32 Martin Garrix f/Usher "Don't Look Down" (Spinnin' Records/RCA) Might have peaked in airplay at least it is stalled.#1 Wiz Khalifa f/Charlie Puth "See You Again" (RRP/Atlantic) This song was in Furious 7 and is a monster hit.
4/14 Mainstream #39 Dillon Francis & DJ Snake "Get Low" (Mad Decent/Columbia) This song is stalled.#44 Ne-Yo "Coming With You" (Motown/Capitol) 4/21 Mainstream -- Jeremih f/Flo Rida "Tonight Belongs To U!" (Def Jam) Peaked at #49.-- Marlon Roudette "When The Beat Drops Out" (Columbia) #30 Pitbull f/Chris Brown "Fun" (Mr. 305/Polo Grounds/RCA) #47 Years & Years "King" (Cherrytree/Interscope) 4/28 Mainstream -- Alyxx Dione f/Jason Derulo "Chingalinga" (Future History/RCA) -- Axwell ^ Ingrosso "On My Way" (Def Jam) -- Banks "Beggin For Thread" (Harvest/Capitol) -- Bea Miller "Fire N Gold" (Hollywood) -- Galantis "Runaway (U & I)" (RRP/Big Beat/Atlantic) -- Olly Murs f/Demi Lovato "Up" (SYCO/Columbia) #42 Adam Lambert "Ghost Town" (Warner) Was up to #40, is still headed up, just got passed by a couple releases.-- = not in the Top 50 songs. *** Here is an old (2010) but accurate explanation of how it all works...

Adam's #Flobbing tweet was not random. It was in response (but not a direct reply) to someone he just started following -- yesterday I think. Cody Scott Lancaster @cody_lancaster · 13h 13 hours ago .@adamlambert The world wants to know... What are your thoughts on #Flobbing? ADAM LAMBERT @adamlambert · 13h 13 hours ag Did u see that girl Flobbing her drink over there ? #flobbing Flobbing = Cody is John Chandler's boyfriend. John is @chandlerman an old friend of Adam's, along with Charl Brown...all the old theater crowd.
