So exited! I was in the taxi on the way home and heard a familiar whistle in the background (radio was turned down quite some). Tried to Shazam, but the volume was to low. The Taxi driver however notice me doing that and turned up the volume for me! It was GT indeed on SlamFM. Since he had that station on I asked the taxi drive if he heard that song more often and he said yes, it's played at least 4-5 times a day!! Very nice (although it's a small station it counts)! Then got home and saw that Q-music had replied to my tweet about them playing GT this afternoon. They played it about the same time! Then after that 3FM played it just 20 minutes later as well (according to their playlist). So in about 20 minutes time GT got played on 3 pop stations here in the Netherlands in prime time for everybody driving home from work and stuff. Really great! GT dropped a bit on Dutch iTunes but after those spins it rose 2 places again. Now on #14 overall and #8 Pop. The album keeps popping up in iTunes as well. Really exited of him getting to the Netherlands. Wonder where he'll be. nic42 I really hope you have tickets for the right show! So great for the Finberts to have him perform there. It is really happening in The Netherlands. Unfortunately, I only heard GT on radio once, but with the frequency you mentioned above, i should hear it soon. So glad GT is doing well and now he is even coming our country. Live is good GT is supercrazyturbotophit at the Coen and Sander show on 3fm this week so they are spinning it every day between 4 pm and 7 pm. You got 2 more chances this week to catch it there. After that the dj's will move to 538. Further this Friday the iTunes Top 30 (Q-music) is on the radio (he's in there) and the Top 40 (538) (probably there as well). On Saturday iTunes top 30 again and Mega Top 50 (3FM) (also in there). In the charts it's known when it will be played so that's somewhat easier to catch.

Adam was pretty adamant (lol, that word has Adam in it) that the lyrics 'I tried to believe in God and James Dean, but Hollywood sold out', were his idea and that he was proud of these lyrics. I doubt he would say that, if he had just inherited the lyrics somewhere. Also, in the brilliant dialog with JJ, JJ suggests, that Adam may or may not have written the lyrics, and Adam jumps in and immediately says, yes, I have co-written them. He would not say that, he was not forced to jump in like that, had he not done so.
Without obviously having any knowledge how it went down, my guess, is,
Fox had that chorus, but it was 'my world is a ghost town', not heart, in his version. He sings it occasionally as 'world', in his cover. He probably also had that downward pointing whistle tune, which he may have been humming or whistling originally.
He had some of the verses, but Adam started adamizing them. He made the song more personal, put in the 'God and James Dean' part, making it about the dreams in your heart. The disillusion with Hollywood, and disillusion with religion, leaves him empty-heart-ed. He then also went searching for the medicine to cure this heart, and given that the lyrics were not giving him that positive vibe, he felt a need for a counter-balance and looked for that beat to give it to him. He saw the potential, and made the song his own. He said in multiple interviews, that he reworked the production arrangement with MM, asked for a more house leaning sound, and he got it.
So, Adam was instrumental to making this song what it is now, but Sterling Fox probably had that original Ghost Town idea and that chorus. It's a classic co-write.
There are many song-writers in this world, who write songs up to the demo stage and then they have to give their babies away. They realize that they will never be the star, and some are just fine with that, but others resent the fact that somebody else gets to stand in the spot light and call it 'my song'. It's not about the money, song-writers get well rewarded, if they have written hits, but it is about the recognition. That tends to go to the performing artist, usually.
I could further imagine, that at times, a song really changes course during production. If SF wanted to keep that song dark, and now Adam turned it around and created this contrast between the empty heart and the antidote of this dance beat, then he may feel that this was not his original intention.
But, the reality is, if the song were dark only, it would not be a noteworthy song. In its present form it is. And Adam has millions of people giving him attention, and SF has not. Whether SF likes it or not, he is no star, but Adam is.
I also agree with Q3, it does not matter for Adam, only deeply interested people will ever hear the SF demo recording, and if they do, it is pleasant to listen to, for a typical songwriter song, but unexciting. He may be trying to throw shade or may be trying to have his own moment in the spotlight, but in the end, he is walking in the shadow of Adam. I am taking away from this, that SF is a good songwriter, but struggling with his role as a songwriter. I am not though, worried about him or getting worked up about his attempts at fame.

I think any Adam fans who do not want the light shining on Sterling Fox to start ignoring him -- particularly on Twitter. Because if Adam notices it, it will tweet to defend Sterling Fox and then it will get noticed.
Is there anything he is saying that isn't true? In this article it is called "Adam Lambert's" Ghost Town and he says he co-wrote the demo before working on "Lambert’s version with Max Martin and Ali Payami."
Here is the article -- so can someone tell me how this is different than anything Adam has said?
JMHO -- the Sterling Fox version has no magic about it and just proves two things to me:
1. Adam is a great vocalist.
2. Max Martin is a magician.
(And I listened to it without giving it a full play -- so no count added.)
ETA: Didn't Max Martin add the whistle?

Can we get back to flailing that we have at least one more Adam concert? Now there is a rumor that there is a second showcase planned for UK or EU.

I agree, probably best to ignore sterling..we may inadvertently get him hits by talking about the article...I mean I read about this here and immediately wanted to read article and hear the video.. so I gave Sterling a hit.MY BAD.Happy that Q3 printed on Adamtopia..so others don't go to BB to read or hear.

My 2 c: 1) Billboard just published an article about Adam's single. 2) TOH album was mentioned as well as another two songs form the album. 3) They explicitly mentioned Adam as a co-writer. I see nothing but a WIN here note: the defensive comments look silly imo...

Well, I'm not sure who added the whistle. Anyway, they asked Adam at least twice (in two different interviews) who made the whistle for GT. Adam said: "The guy who wrote the song made (recorded) the whistle." I assumed 'the guy' was Sterling Fox. But Adam never named him. I found it quite interesting - Adam didn't have a problem to talk about Max Martin, Shellback or Ali Payami. But I didn't hear him to talk about Fox, saying his name. I dunno why.
