I've finally got through the last two threads! I know I'm so late but Lynneville I just want to send you a big because I know how hard it is to say good bye to a dear pet. But...you will see each other again over the rainbow bridge someday. Welcome, pemd!

You did a brave and compassionate thing for your old friend lynneville Catzmadam Glad you are up reading and posting. We are thinking of you. And lovely pic. I am of the same mind as Will Rogers: "If there are no dogs in heaven, then I want to go where they went."

So sorry to hear about Scout, Lynneville. Been there a few times too and it hurts so bad. The only thing that makes it bearable is that you know they'll be better off. Hugs to you! I really love the image of the rainbow bridge.

adam-pictures.com/displayimage.php?pid=11657&fullsize=1Whatever argument Adam is making for whatever he is making it, I think I'd also be convinced. Be honest ladies, even if it wasn't Adam this eye to eye and great body language would have bought at least another hour or so, right? Cup of coffee? Walk on the beach? Discuss our signs? Who will be our next governor? [sigh] Posting late, but I love, love this pic so darned much. And [grin] that body language is what led to a marriage proposal. Still with the guy. ;D

The one benefit I can see for cycling out band members from time to time, or a least using different people very occasionally for different gigs, is if it brings in a new flavor or a higher skill level musically/technically. I'd love if all of Adam's band members were able to easily riff/improvise with him organically, or play a new encore with very little rehearsal if Adam feels so moved. Not saying that his current band members can't/don't do this, or can't get better/tighter/more flexible with time. It's just that I've seen some other bands/musicians do it with a little more ease. Also, I'd love to see if when he has the budget, he get's backup singers, as this would also allow him more flexibility and experimentation on stage. ETA: Lol jinx on the band members midwifespal. Rabbitrabbit, That's my secret wish too. I am really fond of all the musicians but would love to see what would happen with some seasoned jam/bue/jazz guys. And a big YES to back up vocalists. I remember being surprised in one interview with Monte where he described the WLL FS experience and he was saying " We were actually improvising right in front of a live audience!" like it was some novel idea and I was actually shocked. I think that song is why love Zac's playing so much. He was so tuned into what Adam was doing and really helped give it shape and power to match that insane vocal. OK now I feel mean. I think the bands great, I just wanted to say I think Iget where you're coming from. I hope people realize that great jazz (and other) musicians DO rehearse improvisation. At the least, it is planned out and has structure: who does what, when. Without that, it can be messy and a bit unfocused, which I thought WWL at Fantasy Springs was a bit. (Not a popular opinion here.) I have often heard my musician friends talking about practicing their improvised solos. That means they decide what they want to do, not that they plan every note out in advance. 8-) ETA: Oh, and Adam said he practiced in the car driving to the gig.
