Who joins us on the show tonight as co-host -- none other than Adam Lambert, who sits down with our Cheryl Hickey to tell us about his new album, The Original High. "It's definitely sonically a different sound," says Adam. "I've borrowed from different colours than I have in the past. And also another thing they encouraged me to do was to explore different parts of my voice. There's some quieter moments. There's some lower moments. Just a different colour." Another element responsible for the new album is Adam's devout following. "I think they're just so passionate," surmises Adam. "They're very invested in my career and what I'm about. They're definitely the fuel that has kept this thing moving. I think without my fans and without their passion, I don't know if I would be getting to make a third album. Tove Lo has a ton of cred----she is someone who will probably be invited to perform on SNL and could even score a RS cover if her trajectory continues. She is hot right now and has respect from the "cool crowd." Personally, I am thrilled that Adam has a collab with her. Absolute perfect timing. It may be the closest thing to a ringer on his album (although the song could be better, I like it a lot, but wish it was Talking Body" LOL)

If they had not done the song together, would anyone actually put Adam and Tove Lo in the same sentence? **** I don't know about strategies, and commercial, rumored or real friendships, and really nothing about who is the bigger star. What I do know is that I went to a Tove Lo concert and she blew me away. Real, live, raw, fun, sexy, danceable music. I have never seen Adam perform before last year, but she reminded me about the 'early Adam' I saw on youtube. So intense on stage, showing and baring herself (in more ways than one  ) and taking us on a journey with her. I had a blast! And she made me realize that yes, you can be sexy as a woman without apologies, without using it to sell music, just because you want to be. And to bring it back to Adam: I would love it if they would tour together, but they would have to extend the evening. Half a show of either of them isn't enough. To see them both on stage together though... that would be so much fun! Ah... and her album isn't too shabby either. Check it out if you can tear yourself away from TOH for a moment! And don't shuffle it, she tells a story. *Tove Lo pimping over, promise I'll go back to Adam again* IDK how long Tove's show was but we all know how long Adam' show's been so far, both for GNT and TP. And those 40 -60- mins are not enough  . I WANT MORE! but I want more Adam and don't want anyone else... |
