Hmm. Which confirms my theory that some in the gay community have taken the absolute worst slurs against women (cunt, fish, bitch) and turned them around, owning them as a sign of solidarity, like some blacks with the word nigger, in-group lexicon and speech, wherein it is not necessarily derogatory. FIRST IT SEEMS THERE WAS CUNTY \ A word generally associated and used in gay society. It means an overwhelming feeling of self-conceit or cockiness. Associated with many feelings, usually of being a bitch, cocky, conceited, arrogant, obnoxious and the list goes on. I'm feeling cunty! Ohh she is FIERCE!, cunty! That bitch is being really cunty today... then add a little honey. Need for this kind of slur-owning will likely pass away the more empowered they become and the more accepted within society. Just so wierd as a woman hearing these degrading words we have fought against brought up again. the last time this whole conversation came up I didn't say anything when you posted over and over and over again but I'm sorry I have to say this... your continued use of the N WORD is SO offensive. Clearly I'm not a mod and I don't want irk anyone but I can't just sit here and pretend that that isn't just absolutely revolting to see used repeatedly as if it's nothing. IMO that word has not been reinvented by the black community and it is still a disgusting term I don't care who is using it and why. My intention was and is never to offend. I don't do anything, including use such a derogatory term "as if it's nothing." Quite the opposite. Part of the point is that it is such a revolting word. C*** is also a revolting and degrading word. I used these words to make a point not to degrade a person. I would absolutely never use discriminatory or derogatory terms against a person. My friends cover the gambit of races and nationalities. They know this. I truly believe we are all equal and we are in this together. I think it is important to be able to talk about words like these and their connection to discrimination. (racism, sexism) Note: I am not, in any way offended by Adam's use of the word hunty. It's Adam. He's sharing. He amuses me. I know he is a hugely loving person. I am learning a little more every day about his world and love that he is open and sharing. |

Damn, that was seriously unclassy on Lisa's part, to air all that shit on Twitter. No, she didn't name Adam per se, but it was amply clear that is who she was referring to. And seems that it's because Adam hasn't gone to any of Monte's gigs.
Which, IMO, is totally understandable. I know Monte has some fans of his own, but I'd imagine 90% of his audience is Adam-related, and I can just see Monte strumming away onstage while everyone in the crowd stares at Adam whilst taking ~sekrit pics and vids of him and tweeting every eyebrow twitch.
I feel bad for Adam, honestly. Can he have more people lay expectations on him?
