I"m more than willing to just let it all go. I am not perfect, and I have occasionally and very stupidly opened my mouth and inserted both feet up to the knees. Then, to make matters worse, I was not always gracious in extricating myself from the mess I made. Even now, in my [cough]fifties[cough] I recognize I can still mess up. A favorite lyric from an obscure singer/composer I like goes, "It's the second time around for most of my mistakes. Think I'm showin' signs of age." I'm not gonna hold someone else to standards I cannot meet myself. And I'm not gonna increase by blood pressure by holding onto anger or grudges. Where's that zen puppy pic? I'm writing this from my phone, so apologies if formatting is all messed up. In the above response, ostensibly from Lisa, with the "cough" part, is she saying she is in her 50s? Or am I reading that wrong. That makes no sense at all. NONE of that is from Lisa Pittman. It is all from this board here today, cassie I think. |

Completely irrelevant, but that saying has always bugged me. The stars are much, much further away than the moon. It would make more sense to say that if you reach for the stars, you might at least capture the moon. Putting on my mod hat.... uncomfortable tho it sometimes is. Let's keep our responses directed at the content of the message and not at the person. The simplest way is to avoid "you" statements. "You think" or "You misunderstood," or "You should." Thanks. :D |
